We are looking for a Teaching Assistant - Personal Care. This is an exciting opportunity to join Brakenhale School and become an integral member of the Science team. We are an 11 to 18 school situated on the southern side of Bracknell town centre. We are a community school. Main responsibilities:To provide in-class support for identified individual studentUnder the direction of the class teacher, to assist in the management of the student through the overt modelling of effective practices to accelerate the student’s progressUnder the direction of the SENCO, to assist with the physical well-being of the studentTo be familiar with the student’s care plan and provide care, encouragement and maintain dignityTo provide support, to include personal care, for the student experiencing physical or medical difficultiesTo assist in the supervision of the student during break and lunchtimesTo provide regular feedback to the class teacher and to the SENCO, and provide data and information to inform Annual Review paperwork (or any other relevant paperwork)To continue personal development in the relevant areas which may include subject knowledge and teaching methodsTo communicate effectively with the parent(s) of students as appropriateWhere appropriate, to communicate and cooperate with persons or bodies outside the schoolTo engage actively in the Performance Management processTo participate in whole school and department professional learning programmes.To be first aid trained, and willing to assist students where necessary.To carry out tasks as reasonably required by the Headteacher.
