Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Receptionist & Clerical Assistant based at Scottish Borders Council Headquarters in Newtown St Boswells within the CASS Business Support Team. This is a full time post providing administrative assistance to Customer Advice & Support. The main duties are answering telephone calls received via the HQ Switchboard, scheduling on batch work which produces Council Tax & Non Domestic Rates Bills and Reminders, paying invoices and providing clerical assistance to the staff within Customer Advice & Support.

Address:

Provides oversight, monitoring and reporting on financial crime risks for a designated portfolio (Commercial, Busine and Personal Banking). Develops and monitors risk management framework that includes the governance framework & practices leveraged across BMO to manage financial crime risks. Provides policies & standards, methodologies and controls that increase transparency, accuracy and consistency across groups. Works with stakeholders to implement the methodology, metrics and program standards for the assigned portfolio to ensure compliance as well as effective monitoring, timely reporting and identification of action plans.

• Manages databases and provides support for analysis, forecasting and/or data visualization, ensuring adherence with data governance standards.
• Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations; includes identification of risk impacts for new processes and workflows related to initiatives.
• Coordinates and monitors the review and sign-off of attestations and reporting.
• Maintains tools and templates for financial crime risk programs (e.g., AML Legislative Compliance Program), as required.
• Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• In-depth / expert knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of quantitative techniques and economic capital methodologies.

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. What you’ll be doing

In this role you will provide leadership in improving the overall control environment within CIBC. You will act as individual contributor or lead multi-skilled audit teams on large and/or complex audits within the Bank’s Personal and Business Banking strategic business unit. In addition, you will identify business controls & design audit steps and perform testing of these key controls. You will also provide an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls in accordance with industry best practices and develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners.

How you’ll succeed 

• Audit planning and execution - While you will contribute to developing the division’s risk-focused annual audit plan, your main focus will be planning and managing the execution of audits or large or complex businesses by identifying and fully understanding the key business processes and their inherent risk, the control environment, both at the management or operational levels, and the potential residual risks

• Audit reporting - You will drive the reporting component of the audit. Identify significant business control weaknesses, and objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential impact on the business and to the CIBC Group of Companies while presenting them in a clear, concise and professional way

• People and assignment leadership - You will coach your team members on their developmental needs and provide leadership during individual assignments as well as team opportunities

Who you are 

• You can demonstrate experience in having a comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices and accounting principles and processes, and strong knowledge with a focus on retail banking and the related regulatory environment in Canada

• You’re a certified professional. Typically this knowledge is acquired through obtaining an auditing or accounting designation (e.g., CA, CMA, CGA, CPA, ACCA), a business degree (e.g., MBA), in addition to business experience either in the banking or financial services industry or internal / external audit assurance and consulting services
