Hours/shifts: 30 hours per week, Ideally 9am-5pm weekdays but this is flexible and a job share can be available
Summary
I am a lady in her 30’s living with my family in Burgess Hill, I have mobility difficulties and use a wheelchair. I have 3 lovely children and as a family we love nature. This can be exploring it, studying it or just being out and enjoying it.
I love books and listen to a lot of audiobooks. I also love learning and research all sorts of things that catch my interest, especially psychology, health related topics and attachment parenting.
I like to be crafty; making cards, crocheting, decorating cakes for the family. I don’t really get a chance to do much of this due to the needs of the family but I am hoping to do more of this with your help.
We are a Christian family and home educate our children. As our PA you would need to be comfortable In a Christian environment but would not have to participate yourself.
A full driving licence and willingness to drive the employer’s vehicle is essential as you will need to be able to drive us to home educating events like forest school etc. and medical appointments.
Any training that is needed for the role will be available if needed.

Description
Typical duties
Domestic:
Helping with laundry, washing and drying, ironing and putting away.
Changing bed linen
Light housework, tidying, putting toys away
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals for family, including preparing special feed for employer
Shopping
Making phone calls when employer is too unwell to do this
Making tea for the employer's guests
Support with looking after my children
Personal Care:
• Washing and bathing/showering, towelling dry, particularly lower half of body.
• Drying/brushing hair and other grooming.
• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
• Assistance with applying cream
• Dressing and undressing, putting on compression tights
• Reminding to take medication and help with preparing medication
• Assistance with putting on leg splints.
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
• Help with mobilising e.g. fetching walking frame, wheelchair
Social:
Driving me in my car and accompany me and my children to go out e.g. for
• Medical appointments,
• Shopping
• Home educating events
• Social/leisure activities.
Person specification
The successful applicant will be:
• Female * due to personal care needs

• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and flexible

• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to always work to high standards of Health & Safety
• Driving licence and willingness/ability to drive the employer’s vehicle i.e. a Motability car is essential
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.
