Our Tech Team at Santander UK is growing, and we are looking for Backup Admin & Service Administrator to help us continue leading the way in innovative banking.
You'll be at the heart of our organization's data resilience and service excellence. Working with the team of dedicated professionals, you'll enhance your expertise in developing and implementing robust backup solutions to safeguard crucial data against system failures, cyber threats, or data corruption.

The difference you'll make:
- Ensuring backup requests, incidents or problem are daily monitored and reported, as well as ensuring any required actions are executed within SLAs
- Working on multiple backup technologies with expert analysis capability to detect and manage trending incidents as well as manage workload and predict resourcing requirements
- Participating in planning, design, implementation and maintaining the banks technology infrastructure
- Building and managing internal service relationships with providers to ensure contractual obligations
- Defining and operate the restore testing schedule, define scenarios and report evidence
- Analysing audit requirements and provision of evidence as well as document process and procedures and provision of performance KPI metrics
What you'll bring:
- Highly technical skills to support multi-vendor backup environment including but not restricted to NetBackup, TSM and Avamar
- Expertise in troubleshooting production environments
- Experience in configuring and commissioning backup infrastructure
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining and performing tuning and upgrades in backup environments
- Ability to perform culture of service excellence throughout all operational activities
- Ability to develop and maintain technical documents and artifacts using ServiceNow and CMDB tools
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Experience on monitoring tools like Dynatrace
- Deep knowledge of other technologies such as Network, Firewalls, VMware and Operative Systems
- Demonstrated skills in thinking out of the box and in developing complete technical solutions from concept to production based on industry experience
- Experience of active collaboration across technology, coordinating initiatives that require participation of more than one team, designing solutions that comply with Santander UK standards
- Awareness of the latest developments in backup technology, ensuring proactive maintenance of service levels

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

1st Stage - Technical Interview - this will a 30min technical interview with one of the team
2nd Stage - A one-hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
