• Leads three or more Transportation Assistants in the performance of related duties. Monitors work queues, distributes and balances workload in accordance with established directives.

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Acquisition and Property Management located in Washington, DC.

This position is being advertised as both location negotiable after selection and with a duty station of Washington, D.C and Denver, CO with the option of telework. At the full performance level GS-15 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Develops complex space management strategies, multi-year plans, policy, regulations, and procedures through collaboration across organizational boundaries. Leads Departmental space management programs pertaining to the acquisition, utilization, and management and disposal of space, driving toward consistency across all bureaus/offices while remaining sensitive to diverse organizational cultures.
2. The major duties of the Administrative Officer position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Facilitates the preparation and tracking of budgets and expenditures, utilizing the financial management systems of the NPS.

Specific duties include:

• Counsel veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries regarding all benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as non-VA benefits available through other organizations concerned with veterans.

As a/an Director CPD (Field), you will:

Dinosaur National Monument: Dinosaur National Monument is a spectacular 210,000-acre medium-sized park with mega-park values. Dinosaur has the most complete geologic record of any national park area and an internationally renowned display of Jurassic era dinosaur bones. The rugged landscape provides habitats that support a diverse assemblage of plants and animals and critical habitat for endangered species. People have been living on this landscape for over 10,000 years and the evidence of their activities can be seen in numerous rock art sites and homesteads. The whitewater rafting and magnificent scenery found in the canyons of the Green and Yampa rivers provide premier Western boating experiences. The Yampa is the only remaining large tributary in the Colorado River system that retains its free-flowing character. Dinosaur is over 90% recommended wilderness and was certified as a Dark Sky Park in 2019. Dinosaur National Monument spans a remote area of NE Utah and NW Colorado that is a 3.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Utah and a 6 hour drive from Denver, Colorado. Fossil Butte National Monument: Fossil Butte is a 52-million-year-old lake bed and one of the richest fossil localities in the world. The monument is located in southwestern Wyoming and considered a high desert environment with an elevation of 7,000 feet. Sagebrush is the dominant vegetation at the lower elevations, while limber pine and aspen occur on the slopes. Pronghorn, Mule deer and a variety of birds are commonly seen. Moose, elk and beaver are sometimes observed. Winters are snowy and cold, with temperatures in the single digits and below zero. Summers are relatively mild, with high temperatures peaking in the low 90s. The nearest town is Kemmerer, WY, population 3,000, and is 15 miles east of the park and provides opportunities for shopping, a movie theater, rec center, doctors, dentists, churches and schools (K-12).
