As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process. Your main duties will include processing supplier invoices, ensuring that they are accurately recorded and matched to purchase orders, and preparing payments for approval. You will also be responsible for reconciling supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records. In addition, you will assist with month-end procedures, supporting the preparation of management accounts, and liaising with suppliers to ensure smooth transactions and timely payments.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a solid understanding of purchase ledger procedures. Experience in using accounting software, such as Sage or similar systems, is essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate will also be able to manage their time effectively, work to deadlines, and communicate confidently with both internal teams and external suppliers.

Job Purpose

As a Personal Advisor, you'll act as a corporate parent for young people preparing to leave the care of the local authority. You will provide qualitative assessments, ongoing support, and guidance to empower care leavers in developing the necessary skills for independent living. This role aims to support care leavers in realizing their full potential, contributing to their emotional, social, and financial independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with care leavers, ensuring their views are heard and their needs are central to all support efforts.
• Pathway Planning: Participate in the assessment, preparation, and review of pathway plans to equip young people with essential life skills for independence.
• Service Coordination: Facilitate access to relevant services, working collaboratively with partner agencies to support the progress and well-being of care leavers.
