Leidos is seeking an experienced Mongo Database Architect to develop IT strategies to ensure the systems meet existing and future requirements based on needs and regulations. Works to design, implement, and maintain a data pipeline and analytical environment using reporting tools, modeling metadata, and building reports and dashboards.
Responsible for performing tasks relating to Database Management System (DBMS) applications, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Duties include database modeling and design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Support duties may include entering and reviewing data within the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:
Set up, manage, and monitor MongoDB, and Cassandra.
Identify database bottlenecks and provide remediation steps as well as implement database backup solutions.
Design and implement security configuration including grants, roles, and profiles, perform database security monitoring and perform database auditing and implement security standards.
Design, implement, and test enterprise disaster recovery solutions and high availability database solutions including sharding, partitioning, clustering, and replication. Design and implement logical database schemas including ERD diagramming.
Perform database schema change management, control, and execute code deployments to upper database environments and execute database data movement to satisfy ETL, backup/recover.
Administer and maintain ETL tools including Informatica.
Basic Qualifications:
Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develops solutions to technical problems.
Experience in leading technical teams.
Experience with multiple database types such as SQL, Redis and MongoDB.
Experience building and integrating the at the application and database level.
Experience developing REST/SOAP APIs and messaging protocols and formats.
At least 2 years of theoretical and practical background in statistical analysis, machine learning, predictive modeling, and/or optimization.
Experience prototyping front-end visualizations utilizing data visualization suites such as Kibana or Splunk.
Experience implementing and building event driven architectures.
Familiarity with event driven finite state machines.
SQL proficiency to include schema design, data definition, and advanced queries.
Experience with MPP data warehouses.
Experience with creating automated data pipelines for complex systems.
Extensive Linux server management background.
Can prototype visualizations with lightweight data visualization suite.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience as a Mongo Data Architect, with a blend of database experience with MongoDB, SQL Server, and Cassandra.
Experience architecting and maintaining complex databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and MySQL.
Automating NoSQL day-to-day operational activities (security, index maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, and installation).
Experience in designing, deploying, and supporting multiple database platform solutions in a multi-zone clustered environment.
Experience in designing and implementing replication, partitioning, and clustering between multiple data centers.
BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment.
Working with Python, Shell, and PowerShell scripting.
Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Jira, and Gitc.
Experience working with TLS/SSL, Kerberos, and LDAP integration.
Experience with Informatica.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
