Design Engineer
Telford
Up to £40k per annum (depending on experience)
Monday – Thursday - 40hrs

We are currently supporting a successful and established manufacturer in Telford in their search for an experienced Design Engineer. This would be a great opportunity for someone who really likes to get heavily involved in all elements of the design process - with the manufacturing being on-site it really allows the design team to view first-hand their creations come to life, as well as offering the opportunity to work with some very high-profile customers. This role is working a 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday) with possible overtime required depending on company needs.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Producing 3D concept and production models for a variety of products and components
• Creating detailed production and assembly drawings
• Carrying out testing and calculations to support initial design development
• Liaising with supplier and customers on project requirements and status
• Supporting departments with problem resolution
• Maintaining up to date records and documentation for production and approvals

Skills and Experience

• Previous knowledge and experience using a 3D Package is essential (Solidworks)
• Must have a degree within a design/engineering discipline
• Strong experience in designing solid-surface products for manufacturing
• This role would suit a candidate who has previously worked as a Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Product Designer / Product Design Engineer

Design Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: Up to £36k per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday (37.5hrs per week) – On-site

This is a permanent opportunity working for well-established and highly successful organisation that is now looking to expand their design team. The Design Engineer will be responsible for undertaking the design requirements for a variety of customer solutions (Plastics, Metals and Joinery). This is an excellent job opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer join an expanding manufacturing business during an exciting phase in their development.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

 Working from conceptual design taking into consideration material availability and suitability, cost of assembly, manufacture and installation
 Assisting in the creation of manufacturing and assembly instructions
 Creation of bills of material
 Issuing manufacturing instructions to the production teams
 Product design of new products as well as modification to existing products
 Production of detailed assembly and parts drawings
 Producing accurate BOM and specifications for each design
 Create detailed component part and/or assembly drawings to assist production with building of products.
 Assist with prototype and field-testing new products and evaluating performance.
 Supports marketing efforts by attending sales shows, operating and demonstrating products designed.

Skills and Experience

• Existing experience within a Design Engineering position
• Previous industry experience within metal fabrications
• Qualified to HNC level as a minimum
• Fully competent in using Solidworks
• Excellent problem solver and innovator with a natural flair for design and product development.
