  • Oversee the transition to public cloud services, redesigning capabilities to leverage cloud-native features effectively.
• Technical Assurance & Engagement:
  
  • Provide technical assurance across multidisciplinary teams, addressing complex business and technical challenges effectively.
  • Engage in presales activities, designing solutions that meet client needs and presenting these solutions to stakeholders.
  • Act as the technical lead for bids and ITT submissions, ensuring proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Active SC or be eligible to undergo a high level security clearance e.g. UK Citizenship
• Relevant industry certifications such as ITIL, AGILE, TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to develop and implement technology strategies and policies that align with governmental standards.
• Project experience in designing: migrations to public cloud environments (particularly with M365 and AWS), automation of platforms/products/services, server/operating system/network technologies, and VMware virtualisation platforms (such as VCF, VCD, VSAN, and NSX).
• Familiarity with SASE architecture, as well as Cisco and Palo Alto technologies, is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across various disciplines and stakeholders.
• Proficient in documentation and time management, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• A thorough understanding of cloud technologies, including experience with Microsoft 365 and AWS, as well as knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.

The Solutions Architect will manage projects and changes from inception to delivery from a technical perspective, working alongside the wider project team to deliver complete solutions.

Technical Project Management

Day to Day

• Alongside managing projects, the Solutions Architect will also be expected to manage small/medium changes through to completion, working with a scaled down project framework model.
• Some helpdesk support may be required to triage tickets and assign them to appropriate resolver groups.
• Some technical development may be required to support in house applications.
• Some research and development may be required to explore new technologies and solutions.

As a Enterprise Data Architect, you will report directly to the Head of Architecture, Technology & Enterprise Data. You will be an architectural design authority owning the Data Architecture domain and will ensure that the IT architecture and designs conform to VWFS Group and Industry best practices and standards

You will be expected to define, evolve and maintain the VWFS (UK) Enterprise Data Architecture as well as support and be a core member of our Enterprise Data Management capability. You will investigate and analyse new technology options and make investment recommendations to the IT Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders. You will also manage the Solution Architects workload and mentor and coach them to be their best. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the global architecture team in our headquarters in Germany

This is what you can bring to the role:

• You have a solid background in information and data architecture with proven experience as a leader in the Data Architecture domain with strong experience in data modelling and database design (3NF, star, extended star, slowly changing dimensions), data platforms, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data governance tools, data quality assurance and Business Intelligence/Visualisation tools
• Experienced and knowledgeable in enterprise data integration patterns, interface design, messaging models as well as architectural thinking and delivery of architectural work products
• Experience of documenting clear technical proposals with stated objectives, costs and financial benefits
• You have experience of building out both high level and detailed technical designs for consumption by data engineering & development teams
• You can assess third party products and technologies to evaluate whether to build or buy
• You are an experienced user of EA tools such as BizzDesign, LeanIX, Alfabet and Sparx Enterprise Architect and cloud platforms including AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
• You have also used Architect and Data Modelling tools such as; Erwin, ER Studio and PowerDesigner
• Experience in defining, developing and leading enterprise data architecture, strategy and delivery as part of an enterprise architecture organisation with a focus on business delivery and outcomes
• Experience in architecting and designing data platforms, data patterns, data integrations and event driven architectures
• Previous experience in Data Technology Transformation across B2C and B2B
• You have a strong architectural instinct - you know what a good (or bad) architecture looks like
• You can effectively communicate technical architecture & designs to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Our Hybrid working requires us to be in the office for at least 1 day per week as a minimum

If you can also bring this experience to the role, it would be a huge benefit and set you up for success:

• You have a recognised industry leading architecture skillset and certifications e.g., TOGAF 9.1/10, SAFe, SFIA 5-6, Open group, BCS, ISEB Architecture, DAMA CDMP
• Experience of working as part of a wider architecture team and interacting with peer architects both locally and globally
• Experience of working with third party suppliers during the design and build of IT solutions
• Exposure to Omni-channel and B2C front-end integration with a passion for digital transformation
• Experience in designing data systems and solutions within a hybrid cloud model and, APIs AND Loose Coupling Architectures
• You understand Canonical messaging and Corporate Information modelling
• Message oriented middleware solutions and/or integration platforms, ideally AMQP and Microsoft Azure Service Bus
• Experience of the design and implementation of IT solutions using an Agile development methodology e.g. Lean, Kanban, Scrum or DSDM
• Previous experience in Financial Services, Automotive Finance or Retail Consumer Finance

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to design panels and wiring diagrams / schematics for electrical and electronic control systems

Normal working week is 40 hours but extra hours are possible if the work requires it.

Hybrid working would be possible later in the contract

This is an excellent opportunity to work in skilled team of industry specialists in a market leading business - They produce a wide range of equipment from a small control panel, up to large scale HV and LV power cabinets

This longstanding and well-established company have gone from strength to strength and are looking to expand their design department to ensure they remain at the forefront of their industry.

You will be expected to have a strong background in Electrical Design and Development and be able to take concept ideas from the design phase through to development and production.

You must be experienced in AutoCAD Electrical, used to designing LV control circuits and systems, and ideally someone who is practical, used to working down to component level and system building.

Work would be picking up details of existing projects, completing electrical design work, identifying outstanding work, parts list checks, cross-referencing mechanical drawings and all documentation relating to projects.

A degree in a relevant Engineering field is ideally what we'd expect, but other relevant work / education experience would also be considered.
