Permanent contract: 35 hours
Location: Hybrid working with 1 day per week minimum in our office in Milton Keynes
As a Enterprise Data Architect, you will report directly to the Head of Architecture, Technology & Enterprise Data. You will be an architectural design authority owning the Data Architecture domain and will ensure that the IT architecture and designs conform to VWFS Group and Industry best practices and standards
You will be expected to define, evolve and maintain the VWFS (UK) Enterprise Data Architecture as well as support and be a core member of our Enterprise Data Management capability. You will investigate and analyse new technology options and make investment recommendations to the IT Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders. You will also manage the Solution Architects workload and mentor and coach them to be their best. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the global architecture team in our headquarters in Germany

This is what you can bring to the role:
- You have a solid background in information and data architecture with proven experience as a leader in the Data Architecture domain with strong experience in data modelling and database design (3NF, star, extended star, slowly changing dimensions), data platforms, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data governance tools, data quality assurance and Business Intelligence/Visualisation tools
- Experienced and knowledgeable in enterprise data integration patterns, interface design, messaging models as well as architectural thinking and delivery of architectural work products
- Experience of documenting clear technical proposals with stated objectives, costs and financial benefits
- You have experience of building out both high level and detailed technical designs for consumption by data engineering & development teams
- You can assess third party products and technologies to evaluate whether to build or buy
- You are an experienced user of EA tools such as BizzDesign, LeanIX, Alfabet and Sparx Enterprise Architect and cloud platforms including AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
- You have also used Architect and Data Modelling tools such as; Erwin, ER Studio and PowerDesigner
- Experience in defining, developing and leading enterprise data architecture, strategy and delivery as part of an enterprise architecture organisation with a focus on business delivery and outcomes
- Experience in architecting and designing data platforms, data patterns, data integrations and event driven architectures
- Previous experience in Data Technology Transformation across B2C and B2B
- You have a strong architectural instinct - you know what a good (or bad) architecture looks like
- You can effectively communicate technical architecture & designs to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Our Hybrid working requires us to be in the office for at least 1 day per week as a minimum

- You have a recognised industry leading architecture skillset and certifications e.g., TOGAF 9.1/10, SAFe, SFIA 5-6, Open group, BCS, ISEB Architecture, DAMA CDMP
- Experience of working as part of a wider architecture team and interacting with peer architects both locally and globally
- Experience of working with third party suppliers during the design and build of IT solutions
- Exposure to Omni-channel and B2C front-end integration with a passion for digital transformation
- Experience in designing data systems and solutions within a hybrid cloud model and, APIs AND Loose Coupling Architectures
- You understand Canonical messaging and Corporate Information modelling
- Message oriented middleware solutions and/or integration platforms, ideally AMQP and Microsoft Azure Service Bus
- Experience of the design and implementation of IT solutions using an Agile development methodology e.g. Lean, Kanban, Scrum or DSDM
- Previous experience in Financial Services, Automotive Finance or Retail Consumer Finance
