Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

Our client are Water Treatment Experts in design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of Pure Water Systems.

They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them permanently, as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.

Job Duties (include but are not limited to)

• Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
• Develop 3D library for standard plant items
• Liaise with clients on all design details
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
• Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
• Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications
• Prepare & check bill of materials
• Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs

Personal Qualities and Qualifications desired

• Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, accredited in CSWP/CSWE is beneficial
• A good understanding of 2D CAD packages i.e. AutoCAD is desirable
• Must have experience producing P&IDs or similar is essential
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

We are looking for someone who has experience working in a Solar PV company with experience working on large industrial projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Ensuring teams meet all scope requirements by completing jobs properly according to their contract or agreement with the client. In addition, they must provide concrete guidance on what everyone needs to do and the most efficient way to complete each step.

Overseeing the team, 1 electrical engineer, 1 PV design Engineer, 1 planning / DNO engineer

Oversee the teams work, ensuring timelines are met, ensuring workflow is followed, communication kept in place with the customers & Internal departments

Creating proposals, tender documentation, specifications

Working on 1/2 large projects at one time, team will be working on 10-15

Key Skills & Experience

Solar PV knowledge would be advantageous

Cane come from ground works / civil engineers / electrical engineering / consultancy background

Knowledge of environmental studies, ground mount design, earthing knowledge

Working on ore complex projects, larger projects across the team, be able to think outside the box

Strong prioritisation skills, strong at coordinating resources,

Building maintenance would be advantageous

Benefits Package:

Exciting Opportunity for an Electrical Design and Field Service Engineer.

Our client is in search of a versatile team member to undertake both design and field service responsibilities. They are seeking an individual with strong technical expertise to join their team.

About the Role:

Joining the designs team, your primary responsibility will be providing crucial technical support to Clients, Sales and Production teams, as well as actual panel building if necessary. This includes ensuring the accuracy of design and pricing for a range of items through customer communication. Furthermore, you'll oversee drawing accuracy and record management efficiently. Essentially, the successful candidate will have a recognised electrical qualification or relevant experience and aptitude for design using Auto Cad packages and working to ISO 9001. Ability to travel to site and knowledge of mechanical design engineering, would both be an advantage.

As a field service engineer, your main task will entail occasional site visits for customer support and equipment maintenance, spanning across different systems and products including CMS systems, distribution cabinets and CEL-designed control panels and equipment.
