Job title: Lead Design Engineer

We are now recruiting for a Lead Design Engineer to be based at the Adlington or Sunderland office.
The Lead Design Engineer will work closely with the wider engineering team, project management and procurement teams to ensure that products meet customer needs whilst focusing on safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
A major element of the role is the management of large composite models, equipment interfaces and top-level assemblies, as well as driving standardisation across the project.
Role information:
Create drawings and schematics of sites, parts, assemblies and technical documents
Produce site layouts and schemes for projects
Develop drawings from sketches, existing drawings, concepts and engineering specifications
Document any design changes
Provide support and assistance to project engineers as and when required
Lead the design and generation of specifications when required
Applicants must have experience of the following:
Minimum HNC/HND in mechanical engineering
Recognised time served apprenticeship
Experience in bulk material handling in a similar role
Proficiency in 3D drawing packages such as Solid Edge or Inventor
Proficient with 2D AutoCAD drawing packages
Working knowledge in design and drawing standards
