Construction Manager

Long term opportunity for a Construction Manager on an intriguing data centre project.

Initially will be managing the external packages which will include structural steel, roofing, cladding and some ground works. After the external packages you will move into the facades/cladding and then into the internal fit out.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understanding the scope of their package.
• Attending and contributing in contractor pre start meetings.
• Attending and contributing in design team meetings.
• Chairing weekly sub-contractor progress meetings, taking and issuing meeting minutes.
• Attending safe starts.
• Approving RAMS.
• Attending DABS and contributing to the meeting, discussing coordination with other trades. If necessary taking the meeting, issuing the DABS report to all other team members.
• Enforcing H&S on site.
• Identifying potential problems, but offering buildability solutions.
• Someone who is tech savvy.
• Someone who can engage with the supply chain and other team members.

The contractor are a well respected tier 1 contractor who work in all sectors, the data centre part of the business is really expanding and they're in need of Construction Managers with Data Centre Experience.

We are paying between £320-380cis a day for the right candidate.

The redevelopment will transform the 112,000 sq ft former office to a Cat A standard and includes a two-storey extension to create a further 21,500 sq ft to the existing building. £40 million Legal & General office redevelopment, sitting on a prominent 1.4-acre site next to the train station.

This project prioritises retain and reuse principles over a full demolition and new-build approach with a full strip out of the existing four-storey building to create a smarter sustainable office.

A new opportunity to work on a school project in Reading with our tier 1 client. Responsible for all financial aspects of the project working closely with the Project Team to control all commercial contractual matters. Deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen.

Must be a passionate SQS, able to travel to site and to the regional office in Reading 5 days a week with the ability to build and manage relationships with clients/consultants and suppliers which will raise profile of the division and lead to new opportunities.
