Murray Recruitment have an excellent permanent opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor for our client, who are a well-established and successful Building Services provider based in Aberdeen.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working as part of a team, you will be working in a very busy environment, practical experience or knowledge specific to facilities management, such as building maintenance and service contracts, would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
Responsibilities;
Assist in cost estimates and budget planning.
Familiarity with cost estimation tools and budget forecasting.
Help prepare tender documents and evaluate bids.
Understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Implement effective cost control measures.
Conduct quantity takeoff and prepare bills of quantities.
Proficiency in quantity surveying techniques and measurement software.
Assist in administering contracts and handling variations.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Prepare regular project cost reports.
Maintain accurate documentation of cost-related activities.
Build and maintain positive client relationships.
Address client inquiries and concerns professionally.
Understanding of facilities management practices.
Knowledge of building maintenance and service contracts.
Experience;
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Strong math and analytical abilities.
Familiarity with quantity surveying software and MS Excel.
Understanding of procurement processes and tendering.
Experience in monitoring project costs and implementing cost-saving measures.
Knowledge of contract management and compliance.
Ability to generate clear and concise reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of facilities management practices.
Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
Due to the nature of the contract you will be required to go through a basic disclosure check.
Offering
Salary DOE
Working hours Monday - Friday - 8am - 5pm (1 hour lunch office based)
Holidays - 35 per year
