Estimating Surveyor
Our client, who is situated between Ashford and Canterbury, is looking for a Surveyor to travel around the south east, staying away as required, in order to prepare sketches, maps and reports; estimate labour and plant; assess complaints and faults with a view to recommending adjustments and repairs; as well as ensuring company and statutory H&S requirements are met and maintained.
Salary is £43-46,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, and benefits include 21 days holiday (rising to a maximum of 26 days) plus bank holidays, as well as Medicash, pension, company discounts and more. You must be able to drive and have your own vehicle. Hours are 8am to 530pm Monday to Friday, with a mix of being on the road, in the office and working from home. You will receive a company car, company pension, private medical insurance and employee discount scheme as part of the benefits of this position.
Additional duties include:
- Surveying sites
- Advising clients of their needs
- Attending meetings with potential clients
- Maintaining client relations
- Maintaining the ECRM database
- Creation of opportunities through solid research and regular contact with current and potential clients.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Three years in a previous surveying role will be highly desirable
- A full, clean, UK driving licence
- Good attention to detail and flexibility
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- A strong background in estimating
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Persistence and resilience
- The ability to think quickly and clearly
- A good all-round education
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent presentation, writing and communication skills
