Painter & Decorator

Location: Site Based Workington and surrounding areas including: North Lakes, Maryport, Whitehaven and Carlisle. Typically working Monday to Friday 39 Hours.

Your role will work alongside a team of trade colleagues completing Kitchen and Bathroom refurbishments within tenanted social housing properties, alongside occasional void works. You will also have access to training and development ensuring that you are continuously learning and progressing your career

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

Previous experience working as a dedicated Painter.
Working alongside a team of trade colleagues to refurbish tenanted properties
Internal painting works on Kitchens and Bathroom refits, which may include some prep and finishing works including: Ceilings, walls, woodwork and doors
A successful candidate will need to provide evidence of qualifications and training, minimum level 2 in Painting and decorating. CSCS card preferred.
The work will be within the Social Housing Sector so experience in this sector is desirable but not essential
Working on occupied properties with occasional void works
Trusted to hit your targets weekly and manage workload effectively.
Always delivering an outstanding service to customers with the understanding that you are working in their homes
Following Novus’ exemplary Health and Safety policies and standards
A DBS check is required for this role.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
About You

​The successful Painter and Decorator will possess a Painting qualification with the ability to work across multiple sites, although further training, including in Health and Safety will be given. What is equally as important is the ability to take responsibility to ensure tasks are completed and the willingness to work in and as a team to deliver a great service. Assistant Site Manager

Location: Working for our Workington office/Site Based - Working in and around Carlisle, Workington, Maryport, Whitehaven and surrounding areas, Typically working Monday to Friday 39 hours per week

As an Assistant Site Managers for Novus, you’ll get to see the impact and improvements your role delivers to your customers and team every day – taking your job satisfaction to whole new levels. Along with utilising your Assistant Site Management skills in Social Housing, Internal planned refurbishment works including Kitchen, Bathrooms, Rewires, boiler replacements, groundworks and Voids, you’ll also be looking for ways to add real social value to the communities and customers you work with. Supported by your peers, team, and management to solve problems and trusted to make decisions to grow and develop relationships and revenue.

Whilst ensuring the smooth running of multiple designated sites, ensuring all site personnel carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively to enable the contract to be completed on time, with zero defects, within budget and with no risk to the Health & Safety of their operational team, the Client or the general public.

An outline of your responsibility as a Assistant Site Manager

Supported by the Site Manager to deliver the below

Manage site teams, work activities and resources to meet the requirements of individual contracts.
Manage the selection and formation of site personnel teams (including Sub Contractors)
Collate all preconstruction information (packs, asbestos surveys etc).
Ensure all necessary contract documentation / reports are accurate and produced on time in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
Identify site hazards and ensure risk assessments and control methods are implemented via the Construction Phase Health
Ensure all sites work comply with Legal and Statutory requirements, including Health, Safety and Welfare
Assist in the preparation process for estimates, bids and tenders in partnership with the Contracts Manager.
Create, manage and report on projects with multiple, live site locations through the use of a master programme.
About You

The successful Assistant Site Manager will enhance the existing team, experience in Voids and Planned refurbishment Works, within Social Housing/tenanted properties is preferred but not essential. Supporting the delivery or works through to completion/handover. Working on a few sites at any given time. Commercial awareness ensuring costs are meeting budget requirements. You will need to hold a Full UK driving licence to travel to Sites daily. ​SMSTS or associated NVQ and First aid at work qualifications preferred, as well as being confident with IT and proficient in MS Office. The role will also require a DBS check to be completed
