Senior Quantity Surveyor

Have you got existing experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor? Have you worked within the water treatment industry? If so, read below!

In this role you will be responsible for budget, materials and all existing costs within the project. As AMP7 is coming to an end and AMP8 is within view it is imperative that the costs are overseen and within target, You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager!

Role Details:

• Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Location: Southampton
• Pay Rate: £460 - £475
• Duration: 1 year minimum
• Tier 1 Contractor

Role Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing all aspects of quantity surveying.
• Liaising with clients and ensuring all work requirements are met.
• Oversee cost reconciliations, applications and valuations.
• Cost control and forecasting, monthly reports on information(value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow)
• Maintain positivity within the workplace, provide open and accurate feedback.
• Supply chain management.
• Assisting with risk and value management to optimise solutions and review with the team.
• Contract management - including all relevant contract forms, methods and budget control and regular software applications.
• Support preparation of subcontract enquiries, negotiate and set up contracts.
• Ensuring all documents and information are up to date.
• Ensure all safety risk situations are known by all site management.
• Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors and clients representatives.
• Providing correct contractual advice to the site team.
• Ensure all steps to confidentiality and private information sensitivity.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• CSCS
• First Aid
• Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sector

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking a new challenge? Our client, a leader in the water industry, is looking for an experienced QS to join them permanently. With a flagship project secured in Southampton, they are expanding their quantity surveying team.

You will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of this flagship water project. Your expertise will help ensure the project meets the highest standards of cost control, efficiency, and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing all cost-related aspects of the flagship project in Southampton, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and reports, ensuring all financial aspects are meticulously managed and documented.
• Conducting regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and financial objectives.
• Providing accurate and timely cost advice and financial reporting to project teams and clients.
• Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, and changes in project scope, ensuring financial implications are properly addressed.
• Ensuring all project documentation, including contracts, invoices, and payment applications, is completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Monitoring and enforcing compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry standards.
• Training and developing junior quantity surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in quantity surveying within the water industry.
• Extensive knowledge of cost management processes and methodologies within the water sector.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
• Familiarity with relevant project management software and tools.
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
• Previous experience in water and wastewater treatment plants and infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve financial issues and ensure project success.
