• Oversees documentation of contract services as provided by Host at Mechanicsburg site as well as routine maintenance requirements
• Administering a variety of construction and service contracts including facility improvements, renovations and repairs, and services contracts such as janitorial services, elevator services, fire suppression systems, etc
• Oversees staff assigned to contract administration and observation for facility related projects and to routine and improvement tasks.
• Manages workload, make assignments, manage asset data collection and provide quality control for work performed.
• Manages technical planning and designing for improvements projects associated with facilities to be constructed or modified.

In this role, with minimal supervision, you will independently perform all aspects of field engineering assignments including development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems for an assigned project, or a designated area of a large project.  The successful candidate is also responsible for reviewing the performance of subcontractors to assure contract compliance, the application of accepted construction technology and standards, and the acceptable standardization of materials and supplies.  Provides technical guidance to lower level field engineering personnel.  Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.    
 

Responsibilities:

• Performs difficult and very complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.  

• Maintains first level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards. 

• Supervises the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.  

• Supervises Construction Inspectors, ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.  

• Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for assigned area.  

• Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. 

• Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.  

• Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. 

• Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work.  

• Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions.  

• Develops discipline construction schedules and monitors progress. 

• Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager.  

• Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. 

• Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.  

• Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.  

• Initiates and maintains records, backcharge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.  

• Interfaces with the client and upper level management.  

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.    

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field, or equivalent construction related work experience, as well as 8+ years of experience in field construction is required 

• Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred

• Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices

• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Deputy Construction Manager to join our team in the Los Gatos area. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day management and coordination for of significant portions of the Construction work, having the authority within the project team, to give direction on Construction responsibilities and decisions. The project is a large Water Treatment plant upgrade. What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance
• Develop the Construction Management Plan, and ensuring compliance to such plan through the Project
• Manage the Construction teams and Construction process to ensure the infrastructure is constructed in accordance with the Construction Schedule
• Work with other Key Individuals to ensure the construction is implemented in a fashion meeting Project Requirements and the Project vision
• Ensure the construction is in accordance with the design and that design changes are not implemented without the engineer of record’s prior approval and Client’s acceptance
• Provide Project closeout documentation related to design as constructed
• During the Construction Period, be physically located onsite in Los Gatos

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• BS degree from accredited University or equivalent construction management experience
• Must have 10-15+ years of relevant experience
• Must have direct experience performing in a construction management or similar role
• Must have demonstrated leadership ability in managing large complex multidisciplinary construction teams on large Water/Wastewater construction projects over $100mil
• Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, construction management on large and complex water treatment infrastructure projects
