As a Lead Construction Control Representative, you will:

• Review and interpret drawings and specifications, codes, statutes, and policy to determine practicability for contract construction of facilities and whether physical obstruction or other difficulties have been adequately considered.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Obtain all environmental permits necessary for the operation of quarries, sand and gravel, asphalt and other related operations to ensure compliance.

• Provide Engineering solutions to meet to meet location environmental needs. 

• Coordinate with business unit personnel at multiple facilities including developing training programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

• Maintain an environmental compliance database which coordinates compliance reports to agencies or parties, coordinates monitoring to meet permit conditions, and brings all worksite facilities into compliance with environmental laws.

• Maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) which coordinates legal requirements and compliance tasks, establishes environmental objectives and targets, determines roles and responsibilities for environmental activities, and maintains a document and record system.

• Identify and monitor environmentally significant issues and advise management on the appropriate action to help develop and maintain Granite’s reputation as an environmental leader.

Education

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Implement Quality Management System to ensure construction and materials meet quality standards by analyzing and interpreting testing results.

• Evaluate laboratory programs and testing protocols and make recommendations in order to facilitate state and national lab accreditation programs.  Review and analyze Technician and Inspector certification requirements and evaluate compliance.

• Supervise technical staff to ensure compliance with quality programs.  Evaluate Technician and Inspector performance and assist management with job performance coaching.  Evaluate vendor performance including services provided by third-party engineering firms.  

• Apply substantive expertise during pre-bid, construction, and post construction phases of a project by working with plants/materials, construction, sales and estimating teams to ensure quality standards and project profitability are achieved.  Evaluate proposed courses of action for safety, contract compliance and profitability and propose alternative courses of action where appropriate.  

• Assist with customer service issues to ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintained.

• Support QC/QA projects by analyzing project data and communicating recommended courses of action, including the propriety of obtaining third-party verification of testing results.  Further support projects by interpreting Granite internal and owner/agency requirements and preparing quality control plans.  Evaluate project requirements and use quality control software to prepare tracking databases designed to ensure satisfactory project completion.

• Participate in and promote Granite’s safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.

Education/Certification 

• BS in Engineering or related field required

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification desired

Ares Management is currently seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join the Real Estate Legal team in our Denver office.  The Real Estate Legal team consists of a handful of lawyers and a few paralegals and legal coordinators.  The Real Estate Legal team is part of the global Ares Legal team and is responsible for overseeing the Real Estate funds and its investments.  The Real Estate Legal team primarily works out of the Denver and New York offices and also throughout Europe.  This individual will be working closely with the U.S. Real Estate equity team, internal and outside counsel, other Paralegals, F&A and Tax. 

The ideal candidate will possess significant and primary experience with real estate, including exposure to asset management, acquisitions, financings, and dispositions.  This role will require a dynamic, adaptive and agile hands-on professional to ensure optimal performance and processes in a fast-paced rapidly growing environment.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities

• Assist with drafting and negotiating confidentiality, brokerage, property management, service agreements, vendor contracts, consents to subleases and assignments, and other transaction and asset management related agreements
• Coordinate and assist with audit response process, including coordination with various business teams
• Manage service of process
• Run and interpret bankruptcy/litigation/OFAC related searches
• Assist with allocation process monitoring and maintenance of allocation logs
• Maintain transaction form bank, including suggesting and implementing document revisions
• Assist with processing insurance claims and tracking relevant litigation deadlines
• Coordination with investment and operations teams, paralegals, legal coordinators, F&A, tax and investor relations

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program or equivalent qualification preferred
• Notary Public

Experience Required:  

• Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience as a real estate paralegal
• Previous financial industry knowledge preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
