The Role:

• Supporting with the preparation of method statements
• Reviewing risk assessments / analysis sheets
• Supporting the manager of the department with general administration
• Liaising with site workers on progress of jobs
• Visiting contractors and site management to discuss projects
• Supporting the department manager with day to day tasks.

Experience / Skills

• Construction experience desirable
• Able to take direction
• Ability to work in a small team
• Prioritise and manage workload effectively.

A full UK driving licence will be required as travel will be required to customer sites.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role

To provide assistance to the Quantity Surveyors and Head of Commercial in the procurement, order placement and cost control of housing developments in the North West. The Assistant Quality Surveyor will also be responsible for managing their own schemes.

• Raise payment certification weekly and monthly for payment of subcontractors
• Discuss and agree variances deviating from the order value with subcontractors
• Assist with the undertaking of a cost to complete for each site bi-monthly and report to the Prospect Management Team
• Competitively tender all sub trades and superstructure trades at the beginning of development
• Obtain method statements and risk assessments from subcontractors
• Qualify new contractors in accordance with company requirements
• Undertake other duties as and when requested by Head of Commercial

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Previous experience within the House Building Industry (desirable)
• HND in a relevant subject (minimum)
• Previous experience working within the Construction Sector
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to demonstrate the effective delivery of procuring subcontract works
• Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
• Demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
