We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on our prestigious project High Speed 2 based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Reporting to the Project Manager on site, the Senior Surveyor is responsible for all commercial and contractual matters on the site allocated to them and should be able to effectively manage surveyors and or assistant surveyors to successfully deliver that project. On larger more intricate projects may be required to carry out the same tasks for a section or sections of the works reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.

About you

• An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).

Alternatively, a degree with some numerical or technical is advantageous. Relevant HND subjects include building/construction, urban and land studies, civil engineering and structural engineering.

Desirable:

A degree in Quantity Surveying and relevant experience obtained.

We are working with a Tier 1 national contractor on an new major scheme in Harwell, Oxfordshire and they are in need of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to help the team deliver the scheme.

The project is a £25 million new build life sciences scheme, steel frame and hi spec fit out.

The scheme is due to start on site September 2024 so there is an opportunity join now and start procurement of the major packages and set the scheme up at really early stages before prestart and then you will be running the scheme from a commercial perspective.

The role will be to work with the design and delivery teams to ensure the scheme is delivered on time and to budget to a client that has potentially 2 or 3 more schemes to follow on in a negotiated format should this be a success. Experience working for a tier 1 or larger tier 2 working on framework bids with full detailed experience of how the 2nd stage works and the ability to work with estimators, planners, design teams and have experience of dealing with clients and architects.
