Construction Manager

A Tier 1 contractor is hiring for a Construction Manager for a 8 month duration with the potential of being taken onto another project. The project will take place in the Cambridge. Pay ranges from £300-350cis per day.

About the role of Construction Manager:

The role will be managing the CAT A and B fit out of a 4 storey office - worth £18m.

Responsibilities for the Construction Manager:

• Strong people management skills, experience in leading large teams, including solid technical knowledge of short-term programming, construction methodology.
• Experience managing all phases of fit out packages, including health and safety, quality, and costs
• Knowledge of internal design, detailing, and structural design standards, as well as experience designing facades for different types of projects
• Understanding of internal materials, manufacturing methods, installation, and testing
• Ability to communicate effectively with architects, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders, and to present design concepts clearly
• Working with other professionals, such as engineers and architects, to achieve project objectives
• Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites. Making sure all health & safety protocols are in place.
• Manage risks, with any issues that arise are solved promptly and efficiently.

We are recruiting for a Construction Manager to lead the construction of the Cambridge South Station buildings. This project comprises the construction of a new four platform railway station (including two station buildings) and associated infrastructure to provide a connection to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with destinations such as central London, Stansted Airport, Ely, and Birmingham.

You will be responsible for managing the construction of buildings and platforms ensuring in accordance with the requirements below:
What you will be doing:

- Provide coordination/integration management of supply chain and subcontractor design, i.e. fabricators, manufacturers, specialist trades, fitout contractors, mechanical and electrical plant and SISS.
- Provide construction management input to the Station building works, particularly advice regarding construction/ implementation/ sequence/ programme review meetings, and any other as advised.
- Co-ordination of constructability planning and collaboration prior to implementation.
- Liaise with the Project Managers to ensure that the construction resources are appropriate size and particular site requirements/criteria are catered for each specialist sub-contractor.
- Support project manager with management of construction resources including Labour, Plant and Materials.
- Overall performance management of subcontractors.
- Ensures that the construction and installation teams are accountable for their performance against agreed schedules and man-hour budgets.
- Support engineering team to ensures that all construction and installation activities are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
- Ensures that all temporary and permanent construction and installation activities are carried out in accordance with agreed quality procedures.
- Interfaces with all other functional leaders within the organisation to facilitate successful development of the project from solution stage constructability through construction, installation, commissioning and handover to the client.
- Ensure regular input from the Project Manager is gained on third party, environmental and public relations issues.
- Participate in, and positively promote, the Murphy Culture Development Culture (leading to Zero Harm)


Who we are looking for:

- Demonstrable construction management experience on complex building projects
- Experience managing construction of structural steelwork, precast concrete, fit-out, MEPH, SISS and external envelope/cladding
- Preference to have experience on railway projects and/or stations (but this is not compulsory for the role)
- Experience coordinating sub-contractor designs and programme of works
- Confident in reviewing and preparing paperwork to implement works ie work package plans, task briefing sheets, quality plans and permits to work

meet set targets. As the post holder, you support the team with the management of a portfolio of let properties throughout the
whole rental process from the inventory and schedule of conditon (check in) to the tenancy termination stage (check out) in a

Main tasks:

* Administer the management of let residential properties to include efficient and correct handling of problems arising during
the tenancy, managing any repairs, overseeing check-ins and check-outs as necessary.
* Conduct quarterly inspections of all properties, advising Landlords of any changes or issues arising. Promptly notifying
tenants of any areas where action is required.
* In conducting check-outs liaise with all parties to negotiate a speedy and satisfactory conclusion and return of the tenants
deposit.
* Manage the relationship with the landlord, including reporting maintenance and accounts matters
* Identify and recommend need for property upgrades and refurbishment, organising any between tenancy work, including that
arising from dilapidations to allow for a timely re-let to maximise Landlord’s income.
* Update records and maximise the use of our CRM system (REAPIT) to ensure all property and tenant details are up to date
* Maintain a working knowledge of compliance information

To be successful in this role, you’ll have proven experience of managing a portfolio of properties, along with knowledge of the
property industry. You will have a professional manner and excellent customer service skills at all times, be a strong
administrator and have good organisational skills. The chosen Property Manager will have the ability to take the initiative in a
confident and personable manner, be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills. Numerate with excellent written and
verbal communication along with fine attention to detail.
