This role has a hybrid working arrangement. We will expect you to attend our Chelmsford offices approximately 2 - 3 days per week. There will also be a requirement to visit other sites throughout the operational area, as required.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a new leader for our Property Team. The team has a large volume of interesting and rewarding work including supporting the Council's £1.7 billion estate which covers approximately 350 buildings and around 1,500 sites ranging from residential care, waste, country parks, schools and corporate offices in addition to providing high quality legal advice to external clients.

Accountabilities

· Lead, manage and motivate a team of lawyers, paralegals and caseworkers to provide exemplary legal advice to internal stakeholders within ECC and external customers.

· Accountable for the provision of high quality advice and interpretation to clients to underpin and inform decision making.

· Accountable for providing legal services to support different functions within the Council, in order to, protect and mitigate potential legal risks for ECC.

· Responsible for contributing to business development targets across the team.

· Develop and maximise opportunities to attract external legal work across the breadth of different sectors with whom ECC collaborates in support of ECC strategic aims and objectives to build new revenue streams.

· Accountable for ensuring professional conduct and governance across the Council to meet Corporate and Statutory responsibilities and requirements.

· Accountable for driving compliance with the Lexcel standard and preparing the service for renewal of its Lexcel accreditation.

· Work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to ensure solutions are robust, providing direction and guidance to achieve positive outcomes.

· Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

· Qualified solicitor or barrister or legal executive with full practising certificate and at least 5 years' post qualification experience.

· Expert knowledge and experience in property law, with a local government focus e.g. commercial property, residential conveyancing, academy conversions, major projects and complex property transactions, leases, licences, sales and disposals, option agreements and overage.

· Experience of working with senior personnel and Directors and other key stakeholders

· Knowledge and understanding of providing legal advice in a public sector setting

· Experience of leading a team of qualified professionals

· Persuasion and influencing skills

· Evidence of creativity in exploring business opportunities

Mechanical Construction Manager - West London c£300-350 a day CIS - temp - 12 months - Tier One Data Centre Contractor

Are you an established Freelance Mechanical Construction Manager with a proven background of experience working within the Building Services and M&E sector?

Are you an experienced Pre-Construction Manager looking for a new opportunity with a leading Tier 1 Contractor?

As a Pre-Construction Manager you'll be working within the Building Solutions Team, supporting them in the delivery of Pre-Construction Services .

Your day to day will include:

• Manage and coordinate the Pre-Construction activities of either traditional or design and build projects once awarded, with responsibility for managing the Pre-Construction process from tender issue through to handover to the operational team

• Work collaboratively with the members of the Pre-Construction team, inclusive of governance, commercial, estimating, planning, and design management to ensure milestones are identified, monitored, and achieved to successfully complete the Pre-Construction process.

• Attend site visits to view the project during the Pre-Construction stage and engage with designers and supply chain partners as necessary to inform the detailed design and pricing process.

What are we looking for?

This role of Pre-Construction Manager is great for you if:

• HNC/HND/Degree in a construction or engineering subject and / or Membership of a relevant body (CIOB, APM, CIAT, RICS)

• Previous Pre-Construction experience on projects up to £10m with strong experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams

• A proven record of successful multi-project delivery through management of a skilled team of people
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Drivers Licence

This division focuses on strategic clients with large portfolios and flexible procurement within the private sector. This is a remote role with some UK travel needed to visit clients.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Estate Intensive team are looking for an experienced Account Manager to take responsibility for ensuring their client portfolio receives the maximum available commercial and operational value from the solutions provided. You will take ownership of the client experience and for building long-term relationships with clients’ which support retention and growth by acting as the trusted advisor to the client.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as a knowledgeable and responsible main point of contact for allocated clients. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority for each account.
• Develop a complete and clear understanding of the needs of their clients.
• Be your client’s voice internally and engage with internal teams to ensure contracted client needs are met in a timely manner and resolve any issues which arise.
• Continual management and maintenance of CRM records.

Commercial

• Deliver on challenging financial targets based on retention and business development opportunities.
• Proactively identify and manage a pipeline of retention and business development opportunities of a nominated set of clients through the delivery of bespoke account management strategies and activities to meet the individual needs of those clients.
• Understand the range of services offered and how these may form solutions addressing client needs.
• Organise and deliver presentations and performance updates to clients to support retention and accelerate business development opportunities.
• Provide insight to commercial services teams (i.e. Bids/Proposals, Marketing, Sales) to enable clear and compelling value propositions and service schedules to be developed.
• To hold numerous contacts for ‘References’ and responsible for creating (with Marketing support) case studies from within your customer base.

Technical

• Keep abreast of industry developments across energy procurement, commodity market conditions, net-zero carbon, regulatory changes, sustainability/ESG so that you can demonstrate credibility to clients and act as their trusted advisor.
• Support/prepare fixed and flexible tender proposals and recommendations and deliver actionable presentations based on a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs.
• Support/responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of risk management trading strategy on behalf of clients.
• Report market positions and news to clients.

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

• Minimum 2 years of in-depth, extensive knowledge of the energy/utilities/sustainability services industry.
• Demonstrable experience of managing strategic customers with large flexible portfolios.
• IT literate with strong MS Office (particularly Excel), MS Outlook skills and used to CRM systems.
• Positive, professional, and focused work ethic and team player.
• Strong commercial awareness – able to identify and develop new opportunities. Active listening skills – able to show emotional intelligence.
• Timely, open & accurate communication
• Strong time management discipline, able to multitask, prioritise multiple deadlines and manage requests across a number of different clients
• Share constructive feedback appropriately
• Full UK driving licence and be able to and willing to travel across the UK to visit our clients in person.
• GCSEs (English and Maths).

Desirable

• Minimum 1 years of account management/client relationship/business development experience.
• Demonstrable evidence of achieving financial targets.
• Professional sales/account management training.
• Higher level qualifications or educated to a degree level or equivalent.
