They are looking for an experienced Surveyor to:

• To ensure appropriate commercial controls are in place and adhered to
• Control the commercial aspects of the supply chain gearing maximum leverage and work seamlessly within the business
• Responsible for overseeing some members of the team
• Firm Understanding of Schedule of Rates for Building Works and maintenance surveying background would be desirable
• Previous experience working in the social housing/local authority sector
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach to work
• Proven track record for being Reliable and punctual
• Must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle

Key Knowledge:

• Social Housing, Building Contractor and local authority industry knowledge
• IT and Excel Literate

A fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Green Estate Supervisor to join our flagship TfL HMF contract. This role will involve supervising all aspects of Green Estate delivery including cyclical and reactive arboriculture and horticultural maintenance. This is a permanent, full-time position based from our Beddington Lane depot in Croydon, South London.

The duties of the Trainee Green Estate Supervisor role will include:

-Supervising the cyclical activities such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, weed control, shrub and planted area maintenance, annual tree & shrub surveys, tree planting as well as any arb/hort reactive works

-Ensuring that the Core Services Manager, Planner and client are kept up to date and informed of all matters relating to the delivery of the contract

-Supporting clients and internal departments from the pre-planning and pre-programming of works through to their completion

-Assisting in the application and management of the permitting process on TfL/Borough roads and liaising with stakeholders

-Overseeing the programme management of the green estate core service works

-Supervising various sub-contractors carrying out work on behalf of FM Conway, providing task instructions, monitoring performance and reconciling accounts

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for a Trainee Green Estate Supervisor with strong communication skills and a passion for horticulture and arboriculture. You will hold a full UK driving license and ideally hold a degree in Construction Management or have industry based experience. To set you up for success in your role we will provide full, comprehensive training.

Property experience isn't essential but can prove helpful. The job can be demanding so being able to multi task and organisational skills are helpful.

Key duties:

• To effectively manage a portfolio of properties ensuring that the requirements of clients are delivered in accordance with agreed service level agreements.

• To demonstrate within your day-to-day role appropriate controls to ensure the customer is at the heart of everything you do.

• Maintain accurate manual and computer records for each property, in line with company procedures and client requirements.

The company is an SME that has enjoyed rapid expansion and an impressive increase in turnover that has created a position for a QS to support the Director in organising the JCT contracts to fulfil the demand on their list of tasks managing the subcontractors and materials. They currently have thirteen current jobs valued from £0.25million to £4million.

Your new role is to work alongside the Operations Director, supporting the Contracts Managers and Project Managers to read the scope of works, interpret the procurement schedules for sophisticated blue-chip corporate individual projects valued from £0.25 million to £4 million and execute a plan to supply direct and subcontract workers with their materials on time and within budget. You will work within the confines of the contract, offering the best value to the customer while ensuring commercial gain is made. This role is an office-based role in Surrey or site based in London and would include site visits with their customers, who are the main contractors. You will be dealing with the specific products, which include plasterboard, suspended ceiling systems, dry-wall partition systems & MF systems.
What you'll need to succeed is a UK qualification in Quantity Surveying, previous UK experience of being a QS with a subcontractor that delivers interiors, ceilings, walls and dry lining. You will have a high level of organisational skills and have previous office experience and proficiency in MS Office such as Word, Excel and you will be trained in some specialist software for interpreting drawings. We would accept similar subcontract experience from suppliers of floor, cladding, architectural metal, curtain walling or joinery as they are transferable skills.
You will need to have your own transport and the head office is not located near any transport links and is in a rural location.
