We are currently growing our Repairs Surveyor teams and have some exciting new Surveyor opportunities across all our localities.

You will be assisting the team to manage the quality and effectiveness of responsive maintenance across a locality while providing technical advice on complex repair issues and escalations. You will also help us ensure that we meet the reasonable, statutory, and regulatory obligations of our customers and will support us in maximising planned investment where possible.

Some things we need from you:

A sound knowledge of construction methods and provision of maintenance services relating to residential buildings

Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to programmes of works and maintenance, for example CDM Regulations, Site Health and Safety, Building Regulations, etc.

Experience of successfully managing contractors to deliver repair works

Experience of positive engagement with customers to resolve difficult issues

Good IT skills and experience of using iPads or other tablets or handheld devices and bespoke software packages to record inspections and work activities

This is a varied role within a collaborative team, where you will regularly liaise with customers and contractors so ideally you will have effective communication and influencing skills with a strong commitment to customer service.

Although this role is home based, it is essential to have a full UK driving license and the ability to travel around properties throughout our Tame Locality. Please find the attached map to highlight the locality areas. Your business travel will be reimbursed from your home address, as per the inland revenue mileage rates.

Our client requires a Labourer for a 1 week - ongoing contract on a residential site in Chesterfield, S42 area.

The successful candidate must hold a CSCS card, all their own PPE, and be able to provide trade references. Duties will include assisting trades on site by moving materials and general site tidy.

Support Worker - Birkinstyle- Alfreton

Full Time (39 hours), Part Time hours (need to be able to work more than 20 hours becaue of shift patterns available)

No day is ever the same as all the ladies have their own characters, their own preferences and interests which is why we deliver person cantered support to allow people to live fulfilled lives.

The role will involve personal care, and working with mental health and behaviours of concern.

The shifts include mornings, afternoons, long days and sleep in support.

Drivers preferred but not essential.

An enhanced Adult DBS is required for this role.

Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor you will be based in their Derby office and be responsible for, but not limited to, producing and providing accurate forecasts of project costs to completion/final value, monitoring cash flow and valuation plans, managing subcontract tender processes, managing subcontractor accounts as well as providing accurate reports of costs and values on the projects.


What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will be a proactive and self-motivated individual with ideally 2 years' experience surveying on small/medium scale heavy civils projects. In addition, you will ideally hold a qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and have an understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contracts. Finally, you will be commercially aware, have sound communication skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Real Life Options are opening a new Supported Living service in Swadlincote to provide support to people with autism, learning disabilities, and Complex needs. We will provide individualised support packages and promote independence to enable people to live a happy fulfilled life within their own homes. The purpose-built accommodation is made of individual apartments.

The service comprises of 14 apartments for people with mild learning disabilities, and 4 apartments for people with higher complex needs.

Shift patterns are generally:

07:00 to 14:00/15:00 and 08:00 to 15:00/16:00

14:00 to 21:00/22:00 and 15:00 to 21:00/22:00

21:00 to 07:00 and 22:00 to 07:00 (Waking Nights)

The role

You will be supporting individuals in their own homes to live as independently as possible. This involves, following daily planners, helping with financial expenditure, domestic support and administration of medication, there may be some support with personal care and meal planning/preparation, maintaining important relationships and support to find new friendships.

A rewarding part of the role will be encouraging participation in activities in the local community to enhance social inclusion. Seeking new opportunities for the growth and development of the people we support which could include volunteering roles and further education access.

Working on a rota, you will be required to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays and nights with planned time off.

We have full time and part time positions available.

An Enhanced DBS Is Required for this role.

A social housing provider is looking to add to their team in Chesterfield on a permanent basis.
The official title of the role is Technical & Quality Control Surveyor but the work is essentially that of a technical officer/repairs & maintenance officer.


About the role
- £33,000 - £35,000 plus just under £1,000.00 van/car allowance

- 35p per mile from office to site for visits


Holidays and Working Hours
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 26 days holiday plus bank hols (rising to 31 as years of service increase)


Your new role


- Responsible for the survey, design, planning, co-ordination, and supervision of work on specified repairs, adaptations and programmes of work delivered by the in-house team and those sub-contracted externally.
- Responsible for Quality Assurance on delivered works including providing reports, photographs and information on rectifying any issues with materials, workmanship or matters relating to customer feedback.
- Ensure that all surveys are carried out in a professional manner with excellent customer communication whilst on site and outcomes or decisions to be followed up in writing and recorded on the Open Housing system.
- Ensure the approach to all works support the long-term asset investment and housing management strategies of the Company.
- Promote the use of alternative materials whilst supporting innovation through the recommendation of new and alternative construction methods


What you'll need to succeed


- Have a thorough knowledge of building construction, materials, components, methods, and defects.
- Understanding of the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Adaptation/disabilities inspection and Building Regulation requirements.
- Extensive post qualification experience in the construction industry
- Have experience of budget monitoring in terms of ordering repairs which represent value for money
- Evidence of training in relation to the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Evidence of training in terms of property Damp and methods used in remediation.
- Evidence of training in relation to the CDM Regulations
- Evidence of training in respect of the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP)
- Ability to produce technical drawings.
- Keyboard and ICT skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, inclusive of specification development and costing.
