• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and Industry take-off/measurement software packages.
• Demonstrate effective project management skills in all tasks.
• Commercial construction and fit-out experience, from budget feasibilities to tender letting, to final account close out.

Key Responsibilities / Main Tasks

• To provide clear, timely and accurate information, advice and reports to team members.
• Supporting senior staff in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects.
• Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required.
• Maintain existing working relationships and develop new with clients, suppliers, contractors.
• Follow the company’s quality assurance process on all projects.
• Ensure standard documentation is used when presenting any external information.
• Attend, contribute and minute meetings.
• Carry out site visits/inspections.
• Working across a number of different projects where applicable.
• Commitment to study and achieve a professional qualification (MRICS or equivalent).
• Completion of weekly timesheets.
• Undertake relevant training as required by the organisation.
• Adapt to include any other duties requested by Senior staff.
• Accurate BOQ, Material take offs.

Your New Role:An established housing association in West Yorkshire is looking for a repairs/maintenance surveyor to join their team. Working in a small team to provide a professional and reliable service by delivering a technical surveying service, whilst ensuring the organisation delivers high performance, value for money, compliance targets and provides decent and energy-efficient homes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear instructions and supervision for in-house maintenance operatives.
• Raise works orders for both in-house staff and external contractors
• Produce accurate and concise reports using Office applications and bespoke software.
• Inspect properties, diagnose building defects, and create specifications.
• Provide accurate estimates for building works.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• HNC qualification in building or construction or equivalent
• Experience of property inspection, maintenance contracting, and front line working with contractors
• Experience of planned and reactive surveying works within a housing association
• Excellent Microsoft Excel ability
• A valid driving licence is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers
