Overview of the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of energy and enthusiasm. As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support to individuals with learning disabilities in various settings, including homes, community centres, and educational institutions.
Foster a positive and empowering environment to encourage independence and skill development.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Take a proactive approach to identify and address the unique needs and challenges of each individual.
Develop and implement personalised care plans, adapting strategies to support clients' evolving requirements.
Encourage and participate in activities that promote socialisation, skill-building, and community engagement.
Maintain open and effective communication with clients, their families, and other support team members.
Key Requirements
You must be a driver
At least 1 years' experience within the Learning Disability sector
At least 1 years' experience within the Mental Health sector
Interview Process
These stages have been put in place to help benefit and streamline the process of recruitment.
1st Stage - Shortlisting & Pre-Screening Interview
Shortlisting will begin W.C 8th January. In the first stage I will review your CV. Should you be successful, I will invite you for a telephone call to discuss your right to work, work history, and suitability for the role, and any questions you may have.
2nd Stage - Formal Interview
In this stage, you will have a formal interview with the hiring manager.
