What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely code and deposit checks from customer payments
- Annotate customer accounts with actions taken in company account management system
- Run, print, assemble, and distribute reports from company account management systems
- Work with team members, other departments, external vendors, and CarMax stores where necessary to resolve customer questions/issues
- Perform all of the above timely and accurately in compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines

When our customers make payments to their auto finance accounts, they expect it to be processed accurately and timely. But at CarMax Auto Finance, we aim to be the best at it in the industry. That’s where the Customer Accounting and Payment Services (CAPS) team comes in. As a Sr. Clerk, you will contribute to this goal by exercising your impeccable attention to detail – whether it’s data entry, generating reports, filing documents, or more. Because of your natural curiosity, you elevate your concerns when something doesn’t look right. By nature, you’re a team player who can also work independently and you thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Qualifications and requirements
- High school diploma/GED, or an equivalent of 6 months of related experience (required)
- Basic computer capabilities and proven experience with data entry
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Ability to communicate both in person and by phone with fellow associates and customers
