We require a Senior Complex Care Support Worker for 35 hours a week to join a small, dedicated team, providing 24-hour support to our 24-year-old male client who is based in a village close to the King’s Lynn area.

Our client has Cerebral Palsy, complex needs, and communication difficulties. He has severe epilepsy and requires 2-1 day care and waking night support. He attends college 4 days a week. He loves music, festivals and days out.

Our client is a very sociable young man who experienced an acquired brain injury at the time of his birth. He has complex learning, health and physical disabilities.
We are looking for a skilled, organised, reliable senior to work along side our team leader who have a positive mindset and a good sense of humour to support him with his needs.

All applicants will need to complete manadatory, specialised training and an induction.

Ideally you will be available to work days and night shifts.

Rates of pay:

Weekday daytime hours (Monday to Friday): £17.00 per hour
Weekend daytime hours (Saturday-Sunday): £18.00 per hour
Weekday night (Monday to Friday): £17.00 per hour
Weekend Night (Saturday-Sunday): £18.00 per hour

An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.

Acting as a role model by leading and supervising carers day-to-day, working alongside them and completing regular staff appraisals.

SENIOR STUDENT SUPPORT MENTOR

TERM TIME PLUS ONE WEEK

39 HOURS PER WEEK

With effect from October 2024, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Student Support Mentor to join the Academy’s Student Support Team. The successful candidate will be supporting the needs of a range of students whether that is in or out of the classroom and in our Inclusion Centre.

The Senior Student Support Mentor will line manage the Student Support Mentors attached to the year groups within the relevant Key Stage and will work closely with the Head of Key Stage to support and improve designated students’ behaviour, attendance and wellbeing. The successful candidate will also be trained in the role of an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The professional competencies expected of a Senior Student Support Mentor are:

• Can use ICT effectively to support the learning and the use of other technology;
• Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum and other relevant learning programmes;
• Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes;
• Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and activity seek learning opportunities;
• Ability to relate well to children and adults;
• Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and their own position within these;
• The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and

an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others;

• Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and

flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit

the team;

• Be able to multi-task and work under pressure;
• Be flexible and resilient in managing and executing their daily responsibilities;
• Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills;
• Self motivated and able to motivate others;
• Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions;
• The ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges;
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours and days when necessary.

The qualifications and experience required of a Student Support Mentor are:

- English/Literacy and Maths/Numeracy qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent
- NVQ3 or equivalent in teaching assistance or equivalent experience
- Experience of working with children of the relevant age in a school, college, care, health service, social care or youth environment
