Due to a planned short-term change to the clinical service manager arrangements an exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for a 12-month secondment as Clinical Services Manager – June 2024 to May 2025.

This role will be within Hillingdon Community Services and will support the Head of Adult Services in developing and delivering community services across the Hillingdon system. Ensure that there is equability of access to our services and that patient waiting times are managed in accordance with Trust policy - To ensure that the service line develops appropriate action plans in order to meet required access standards - Participation in daily escalation rota to proactively manage bed capacity. - Implementing techniques and procedures such as Demand and Capacity mapping which support service design, delivery and modernisation.

Develop and maintain effective communication and decision-making systems. Develop and performance manage the large and complex programme plan with clear outcomes / benefits identified and all links and dependencies established, driving recovery and ensuring the national access indicators are met focusing on cancer, diagnostic & surveillance targets for endoscopy patients within agreed organisational recovery action plan timescales and within available budget. In addition, to actively contribute to the drawing up of service budgets related to key projects and related financial initiatives and to be responsible for ensuring budget adjustments are made to achieve programme savings e.g. efficiency improvements of £xK per annum. To establish links with change management leads in other areas to ensure the links and dependencies are identified. To manage the Endoscopy Delivery group, ensuring the chair and other members are briefed to ensure the desired challenge, decision or outcome is achieved at Board meetings Attend monthly internal and external governance meetings Ensure safe and effective surveillance waiting list management and support for clinical validation. Present highly complex, sensitive or contentious information to internal and external groups / boards Assist the Endoscopy team in monitoring and achievement of national and locally agreed standards. This includes JAG accreditation standards, accreditation assessments and annual reviews. Support effective service delivery including planning, identifying budget and procurement of endoscopic equipment. Support the development and use of endoscopy management and clinical information systems to ensure all data is accurate and regular monitoring is in place. Lead on the development and ratification of a long-term Gastroenterology strategy which aligns with and supports the delivery of the wider Trust Strategy. Facilitate regular audit and evaluation of all aspects of the endoscopy service as per the JAG standards ensuring the involvement of staff and patients. The post holder will promote the consistent and effective use of management tools and methodologies through their own work across the Medical Division and with stakeholders across the Trust. The post holder must be able to effectively analysis and interpret performance / demand and capacity data, assess projects, identify areas for collaborative working to inform decision making processes. The post holder will have a key role in maximising the quality and effectiveness of the use of resources available within the service, through the implementation of service and process improvement initiatives.

About the role

You will exercise dynamic leadership of the School and ensure the full development of the vision for the service, its promotion and continuous improvement. You will create and maintain a Centre of Excellence in the education of our students.

You will create a shared vision and strategic plan which inspires and motivates pupils, staff and all other members of the school community. This vision should express core educational values and moral purpose and be inclusive of stakeholders’ values and beliefs. The strategic planning process is critical to sustaining school improvement and ensuring that the school moves forward for the benefit of its pupils.

You will work in collaboration with other senior managers, to provide a complete service and to develop and grow the wider services offered by the Centre to encourage an increase in referrals.

Primarily based at the school’s secondary site, the role has overall responsibility for both the secondary and primary provisions located across three sites (Upton Grange-EYFS/KS1, Yiewsley Grange-KS2 and The Manor Ks3/4/5).

Essential:

Relevant experience in the specialist area of the service i.e. relevant experience of working with young people/young adults with autistic spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviour
Relevant experience as a Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher
Experience of Ofsted procedures / inspections
Managing budgets effectively and ensuring cost efficiency
