Manor Park Care Home is a purpose built residential and nursing home in Castleford, West Yorkshire. The home specialises in the provision of residential, nursing and dementia care for 73 residents. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and bath and / or shower facilities are available on each floor. About the Directorate:

The Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services Directorate is delivering a range of customer-facing services, including building and housing services. It is one of the largest directorates in the city council with a wide and varied mix of functions but all with a core purpose to provide good quality service to our customers, a culture of driving service improvement and generating income.

This role will be part of the building services team who are responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of assets. You will provide a comprehensive personal support service and report to the Assistant Director of Building Services as well as supporting his management team.

Manor Park

Manor Park Care Home is a purpose built residential and nursing home in Castleford, West Yorkshire. The home specialises in the provision of residential, nursing and dementia care for 73 residents. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and bath and / or shower facilities are available on each floor. Manor Park has a number of communal areas, including a spacious lounge and dining area on each floor, cinema room and a specially designed indoor garden room. The pleasant gardens have a comfortable seating area, allowing residents the chance to sit back and relax, whilst enjoying the fresh air and socialising with friends and family. The Service:

The Children and Families Services helps supports and protects Portsmouth's most vulnerable children and young people enabling them to lead safer, healthier and more fulfilling lives. It also acts as the corporate parent for the city's Looked after Children. Going forward, the service and its Business Support function will embrace change, have a strong and sharp focus on exceptional customer care, and will respond flexibly and effectively to transformational developments.

Your New Role:

You will provide high quality administrative business support within the Fostering Team. The team recruit new foster carers and provide ongoing support to existing foster carers, and you will play a vital part in the Business Support Administrative functions to ensure the smooth-running of business processes. You will take minutes, deal with inquiries and correspondence, book meetings, maintain files, and carry out a wide variety of administrative tasks. You will also support preparations for Ofsted inspections and for Fostering Panels. You will initially be fully office-based for training, moving to hybrid working later.

What you'll need to succeed:

You have strong administrative skills with experience of working in an administrative/customer-focused role, and ideally also experience in Children and Families Services. You have excellent communication skills and are a good listener, able to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity when handling difficult and upsetting situations. You can develop a good professional rapport with colleagues, and work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team. You have the ability, drive and enthusiasm to develop and implement new working practices and procedures. You are organised and accurate, and you have experience of using databases and Microsoft Office.

In this role, you'll provide personalised support to children with ASD, implement tailored strategies to promote their development, and collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment. Prior experience working with children with ASD is essential, along with strong communication skills and a compassionate approach. Responsibilities:

• Utilisation and development of 1:1 resources.
• Experience working with SEN pupils
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and TA's to organise appropriate activities.
• Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
• Work closely with other LSA's and support staff.
• Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
• Prepare and develop class displays.
• Keep up to date records of the pupil's progress and contribute to the child's EHCP plan.
• Create a calm environment where learning can take place.

Essential requirements:

• Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
• Experience of working with young people.

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant for Maria Mallaband Care Group we ask you to care for our residents like they are your own family, caring for their Physical, Psychological and Social needs. Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals. We would love to hear from you if you have previously worked as a Senior Care Assistant, Senior Care Giver, Homecare Worker, in Social Care or as a Community Support Worker.

We offer our care staff flexible hours on full or part time basis over the 7 day week to offer a good work-life balance.
