Key responsibilities of a Homeless Support Worker

In this Homeless Support Worker job, your responsibilities will include:

• To provide dedicated housing support to keep service users within their tenancies and improve long term goals
• As well as housing knowledge you will need to have specialist knowledge around drug and alcohol, mental health, domestic violence and provide support to people in their homes to improve their engagement in treatment services.
• To utilise case managements skills to provide coordination of interventions and activities to empower the recovery of individuals accessing services.
• Deliver activities and interventions which may be alongside peers in line with personal budgets.
• To work collaboratively with external partner agencies to provide support to Service Users that meets their needs through all stages of their individual recovery journey
• To carry out duties in line with organisational policies and procedures

Skills & experience of a Homeless Support Worker

• Proven track record of working In a homeless service or substance misuse before - dealt with a caseload and support sessions
• Car driver is necessary as travel around Chesterfield is essential
• Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared - Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
• Available to work on a temporary on-going basis - potential to be temporary to permanent

What You Will Do:


Coordinate Home Care Services: Manage and coordinate home care services to ensure efficient delivery and high standards of care.
Support Care Management: Assist in maintaining records, producing reports, and investigating complaints from service users and employees.
Produce Staffing Rotas: Create and manage weekly staffing rotas to ensure adequate coverage and support.

What We are Looking For:

Experience in Care: Previous experience in a care role, with a genuine passion for helping others is essential.
Organisational Skills: High level of organisational skills and reliability with the ability to manage staffing rotas and multiple responsibilities.
