Early Years Domestic Support Assistant
St Leonard's Nursery

Salary: £23,087 - £23,388 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 15 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working Pattern: 10:30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday

St Leonard's Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our talented Nursery Team. The successful applicant will:

- Deliver basic food preparation and cooking for children’s snacks respecting children’s dietary needs with regard to ethnicity and particular needs in discussion with the early years practitioners.
- Take delivery of any nursery lunches and following the safe food policy and procedures.
- Support early years practitioners to serve snacks and meals.
- Ensure the kitchen areas meet environmental health requirements on a daily basis and to report any defects to the SLT.
- Be responsible for overseeing the rotation of stock and that all legislative requirements are met with regard to the safe storage of food.
- Support the team by cleaning up the early years establishment keeping the environment attractive, hygienic for the children throughout the day as required.
- Assist with any laundry by loading the washing machine and dryer and ensuring any nursery clothing, towels, cloths etc are kept clean.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who can support young people who live at Heathervale by working in a trauma informed way to ensure we offer the best possible care and support. You will work as a part of dynamic team, with young people to assist them to form personal attachments, develop resilience and ensure they receive as much support as possible to achieve their full potential . Please note that shift work and weekend work are part of your contractual hours.

Experience required;

• Qualification held must fully meet the SSSC requirement for Unconditional Registration. The sole exception to this is for candidates who have achieved the necessary practice qualification (e.g. HNC in Social services) and have only the optional SVQIII modules to be completed to be awarded the SVQIII Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7.
• Applicants must be eligible and prepared to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Residential Child Care Worker
