Ambulatory Gynaecology consists of clinics in area 7. The Elderly Care team with 14 funded Consultant Geriatrician posts (13 in place) currently provide a wide range of hospital and community based services including Acute Frailty services as well as running specialist clinics for patients with Parkinsons disease, falls and general medical conditions. We have recently started a Rapid Access Clinic for Elderly as part of Frailty- Same day Emergency Care (F-SDEC). Inpatient elderly care wards include 5 acute elderly care wards and an established purpose built Acute Frailty Unit with10 Assessment beds, 22 short stay beds and 2 clinic rooms. In addition to existing services, we are seeking colleagues to take on the challenge of developing new models of care for frail elderly people in the community such as Frailty. Pioneering work has already established Integrated Locality Review meetings (MDT meetings, 4/week). Consultants are working closely with existing community teams to proactively assess and manage frail individuals in the community. We are about to open a 22 bedded Acute Unit based in a Community Hospital in Sheppey. The post holder will join the existing team of full time Consultants. The post holder will need to take responsibility for the management of patients admitted to his/her specialty Elderly Care ward (12-15 patients) routinely and those admitted under their care whilst on call for Acute Frailty. The latter would average 12-15 per on call. These patients are then streamed to Frailty Short Stay Unit if early discharge planned (<48 hours) or one of the 5 Frailty Base wards for longer admissions. Acute Frailty Unit has a dedicated Elderly care Team with 2 Consultant Geriatricians supported by their own team of junior doctors and a Multidisciplinary Team. There are 10 funded posts for Middle Grades in the department with currently 6 in post. Elderly care Consultants participate in an Acute Frailty On call service. The post-holder will be paired with another Consultant so that in a 12 week block they provide 2 weeks of weekday on call and 2 weekends on call. Full registration with the GMC and the ability to make decisions at a senior level, the role will allow you the opportunity to continue your personal development, and participate in the teaching, research and governance programs within the Department. All subspecialist interests are welcome. There is an opportunity, in negotiation with the other consultants, for participation in the running of the established clinics such as Falls and Movement Disorder Clinic. The successful applicant will also have an outpatient workload comprising of new and follow referrals for managing complex co-morbidities. Typical clinic would have 3-4 new patients and a similar number of follow-up patients. Domiciliary Care Experts specialises in working with service users and their families who require care in their own home. We offer a tailor made service of person-centred care.

Our visit times range from 30 minutes to full Live in support. We also have our own Complex Care Department, DCE Complex Care. It provides care for people who have more complex care requirements with support workers who are fully trained and competent with tracheostomy care, gastrostomy care, epilepsy management, acquired brain injury and spinal card injuries.

We are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to join our team in our Gillingham Branch. We have both full-time and part-time hours available. Shift Patterns are 7am to 2pm and/or 4pm to 10pm. We ask for a commitment to working alternate weekends.

It’s an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection. We are excited to be offering a secondment opportunity for an 8b Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist operational lead to our MHT+ Psychological Therapies Services for working age adults with severe and complex mental health difficulties in Medway. The post is a fixed-term secondment for 23 months and you will be working closely with the Clinical Lead for North Kent. We would be particularly keen to hear from those with experience working with adults with severe and enduring mental health problems, those with operational and managerial experience, or those in established 8a/8b posts and ready to develop these competencies and skills.

You will join a dynamic team of 6 qualified clinicians – clinical psychology, psychoanalytic and CBT, Art and Psychodrama psychotherapies. The post requires you to lead the team on peer supervision and a monthly CPD space. We have good liaison with the local doctoral training course in Clinical Psychology with Chris Church University and other psychotherapy educational organizations and have a rotation of first and third year trainees' placements available annually.

You will have operational lead responsibilities for the service, and manage those in the team. Your will have your own caseload of assessment, individual and group interventions. Experience of Mentalisation based psychotherapy, Structured Clinical Management and EMDR are welcome in addition to core training competencies. Formal HEE funded training will be available for those interested. In addition to expected delivery of psychological therapy you will have leadership roles developing the Pathway of Care with colleagues in the wider team, delivering training and supervision, and you will be working collaboratively with those in the wider team in line with the CMH Framework and the Transformation and working closely with the lead of the service to develop these agendas.

As the service works closely with the wider team there is ample opportunity to learn about organisational dynamics and delivery of care. As a senior team member you will be part of the Psychological Therapies leadership team, representing our service in meetings, discussing appropriateness of referrals with the wider community team and influencing service delivery. The service meets weekly for peer supervision and business/clinical governance, and has a CPD programme on a monthly basis to develop further.

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent for psychotherapists, experience in secondary care and management, and have membership with relevant organisation such as HCPC, BABCP, BPC or UKCP.
