As a Care Assistant under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well being and social needs of our residents. Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals.

About The Role

For you, that will mean planning and implementing the kind of care that will give our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families – helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and you’ll be a real influence on the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you’ll do so with a sense of kindness, above anything else. Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, you will be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.

One of your key responsibilities as Senior Care Assistant is to maintain accurate records of the job you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.

Ideally, you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care and are prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, a background in person centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential, though, is your brilliant positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll know what good record keeping looks like and be able to manage your time effectively. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.

The Role

To post-holder will be responsible for the day to day management of various service contracts. They will drive excellence through innovation and best practice service delivery, underpinned by strong record keeping that allows Bield to manage performance. They will be responsible for preparing and maintaining contract documentation, preparing and procuring tenders, managing and meeting contractors including visiting sites to ensure a quality service is received within budget and delivered on time.


The Candidate

This opportunity seeks a candidate with significant experience in the delivery of maintenance contracts and contractor management, preferably within housing or the public sector. Understanding of housing legislation and experience in using procurement and invoicing systems as well as repair/asset management systems are essential requirements for the role. You will need excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to liaise with contractors, customers, local staff, local authority departments and members of the public.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar or related role and must have technical skills to understand drawings, specifications and to identify and assess risks. You will have a genuine interest in and an open, flexible approach to the promotion of excellent standards of care for older people, combined with analytical and problem solving skills to be able to advise on solutions.


Full driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle insured for business use are essential requirements of the role.

To post-holder will competently administer all service & compliance contracts on Bield’s Asset Management System. The Compliance Assistant duties include scheduling appointment visits and issuing tenant correspondence, monitoring progress against planned service programmes, recording/updating all service visit data, asset management, processing invoices as required, liaising closely with all members of Bield staff to ensure continuity of service.


The Candidate

You will need excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to liaise with contractors, customers, local staff, local authority departments and members of the public.

The successful candidate will have good IT skills in word processing, spread sheets and asset management systems and ideally have experience in working with a computerised repair/asset management system. You will have the ability to provide highly effective administrative & organisational skills to effectively prioritise, plan and coordinate a workload across a variety of buildings in different locations as well as a genuine interest in and an open flexible approach to the promotion of excellent standards of care for older people.

What does a live-in carer do?
As a live-in care assistant in Scotland, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Duties include daily activities, personal care, condition management, and household tasks. You’ll typically work an average of 8–10 hours per day, with daily rates based on hours worked.

About you:
You’ll be someone who’s happy to talk, laugh and enjoy time with our clients, assisting them in their activities and encouraging them to live life to the full.
You might already be working as a live-in carer, or you might have professional experience as a support worker, care assistant in a residential or domiciliary care setting, or you might be a HCA working with the NHS. If you share our passion for quality care, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:
- At least 6 months’ professional care experience gained in any care setting
- You must be able to provide us with proof of your right to work in the UK. We cannot assist with any sponsorship or visa requests – including those applying for a health and social care visa.
- You must be flexible to travel to your client placement (UK travel expenses covered)
