Responsibilities:

Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
Empathy, understanding and patience
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
Competent in verbal and written English
A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

Southport Services covers residential support for people across three homes, located in York Road, Arbour Street & Dinorwic Road.

York Road is located in the village of Birkdale in Southport, Merseyside. It offers residential support for five males and females who have a learning disability or are on the autism spectrum. Our team are dedicated to providing the people we care for with the skills needed to live a healthier and happier life back in the community. We can also support those who have mental health needs, difficulties with communication, and mild to moderate behaviour that may challenge

Dinorwic Road is located in the village of Birkdale in Southport, Merseyside. It offers residential support for three people with a primary learning disability diagnosis, who may also have mental health needs. We are located on a quiet road, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where everyone we care for can make their own choices about the care and support they receive. We want to help provide residents with the skills they need to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

Arbour Street is a semi-detached Victorian house, located on a quiet road, very close to Southport city centre. It offers residential support for three adults with a learning disability, who may also be on the autism spectrum. Our team are dedicated to helping people to develop the skills necessary for a future where they can live as independently as possible.

Location Information

Cleveland House is located in Banks, Southport, in the west of Lancashire. It offers residential support for 32 people with an acquired brain injury (ABI), progressive neurological condition (PNC) and associated physical health needs. Our team are dedicated to providing the best possible care to our residents in a safe and homely environment. From personal care, rehabilitation to social activities, we aim to provide a range of services that promote physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

Paediatric Emergency Department Health Care Assistant

Opportunity available for a Health Care Assistant to join the team within the A & E Department, Based across North West England

The team is located within the A & E with the role will be predominately providing support and care for patients with physical health needs within a multidisciplinary setting and will also consist with undertaking assigned tasks under the general supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. As a health care assistant you will be supporting the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services and delivering care within the practice.

This role is to commence ASAP with shifts being a mix of earlies, Lates, Days or Nights. It is essential you have a healthcare qualification with this being a minimum of either a BTEC or NVQ level and also 12 months experience working within A & E & with Paediatric Patients

Hourly Rate for this role:

Monday to Friday: £12.00 (PAYE)
Saturday & Sunday: £14.00 (PAYE)
Nights: £16.00 (PAYE)
