Centre Manager

Permanent role - £22,100 per annum
Minimum 34 hours per week
We are actively looking for a committed, proactive Centre Manager who can create a safe, fun environment for staff and patrons. It will be your responsibility to promote and grow the business, hire and train staff and ensure that patrons are receiving an excellent service. You will manage the Centre, and it's staff, supporting all events and fund raising for the registered charity.
The Centre Manager takes responsibility for the financial success of the establishment. They have a range of duties, including administrative, leadership and practical tasks. Their main function is to ensure that they run the Centre efficiently and that the customer has the best possible experience. They are also responsible for the success and development of their staff.
To excel as a Centre Manager, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving ability. You need to be available to work evenings and weekends.
Role and Responsibilities
- Leading a small team leading by example, setting rotas, creating a positive work environment for staff and encouraging their development.
- Monitoring inventory and ordering of stock.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers, dealing with customer feedback and providing adequate solutions to customer complaints.
- Overseeing the cleanliness of the establishment and garden area and paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.
- Serving customers to fulfil their requests, checking membership status to ensure correct prices are charged and payments taken.
- Encourage new member applications by non-members and request membership renewals annually.
- Respond to requests for hall bookings and update diary with any new / amended bookings.
- Check facilities after use, to ensure they are left clean and tidy.
- Check patio, car park and put rubbish in the bins.
- Complete timesheets daily for the hours worked.
- Complete checklist of tasks completed to ensure all items are covered regularly.
- Report any defects in equipment to the Committee.
Essential Skills
- Previous management experience.
- Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Numerate and literate.
- Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximise resources.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desirable Skills
- UK driving license.
- Good computer, problem-solving, and administrative skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
