An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fixed Term full time band 6 registered practitioner within our liaison psychiatry team based in Chester for 12 months to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will also be expected to work across Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, which will include Crisis Resolution Home Treatment teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services and the Crisis Triage and Response Service.

The Practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary liaison team to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and interventions for people presenting to the acute hospital with a wide range of co-morbid psychiatric illnesses. This can be within the AED setting or medical wards across the whole hospital site. The Service runs for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this will involve some unsocial hours, nights and weekends.

Also to provide comprehensive assessment for people experiencing mental health crisis in a community setting whilst working in partnership with police colleagues, NWAS and Local Authorities.

Assessments will be offered to patients aged 16+ (with no upper age limit) to provide mental health consultation, liaison and advice throughout departments delivering a range of evidenced based psychosocial interventions to individual patients as required.

The post holder will be expected to work as part of the Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Service which includes Crisis Triage & Response Services (Crisis Line/First Response), Liaison Psychiatry, Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Teams, Street Triage and Liaison & Diversion services (Criminal Justice).

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) position for applicants with an interest in working with people with a range of mental health conditions at The Brooker Centre. The Brooker Centre is a mental health hospital with two wards. - Bridge ward is a male acute ward and Weaver Ward is a female acute ward.

The successful applicant will be working as a key member of the occupational therapy service on Weaver Ward. We are looking for self-motivated and caring individuals who can facilitate group activities, 1:1 sessions and assist the qualified occupational therapy staff as required. Hours are Monday to Friday and 9 - 5.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of treatment and care plans where appropriate under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist and in collaboration with the ward manager.

The post holder will be required to actively work as part of The Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The Post Holder will be expected to work in an innovative way to support the smooth running of the Ward and will be required to offer individual and group activities alongside Occupational Therapy staff .

Under the direct or indirect Clinical Supervision of a Qualified Occupational Therapist you will undertake the following duties:

1. To support, with direction, Service Users’ with activities throughout the therapeutic day. This will be under the supervision of senior Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychological Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

2. Undertake specific tasks within Occupational Therapy assessments with Service users using a Person Centred Approach in order to assist the Occupational Therapist to identify appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions.

3. Work innovatively and effectively and take responsibility for carrying out a range of activities under non directive supervision where the overall goal is clear to support and deliver the provision of a programme of meaningful and purposeful activities of daily living that relate to Service Users Formulation and Goal Plans.

4. Assist in planning and facilitate both individual and group work with Service Users and take an active role in implementing agreed plans/tasks in familiar or defined contexts.

5. To support the Service Users’ to engage with their Shared Activity Planner and support the Service Users’ to engage in their choice of activity. There is an expectation to engage with service users on enhanced observations as part of their recovery journey

6. Be fully involved in The Occupational Therapy Process to ensure Service Users increase their independence and well being through skill and knowledge development and apply clinical reasoning to this approach.

7. Participate in the provision of a varied and interesting range of timetabled activities that support Service Users to achieve identified goals.

8. Exercise initiative and independence in carrying out delegated activities at a Professional level.

9. Be aware of, and apply, the principle of risk assessment and management to all aspects of clinical work including, where appropriate, the provision of information to The Multi Disciplinary Team.

10. Maintain the health, safety and security of others and contribute to and comply with risk assessment.

11. To contribute to formal Occupational Therapy record keeping and reports and provide feedback on Service Users occupational functioning. Assist in the development of treatment and care plans where appropriate

12. Undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.

13. Work closely with The Multi Disciplinary Team at all times and involve Nursing Staff and Support workers fully in activity sessions.

14. To maintain links with other agencies, both statutory and voluntary in order to support recovery and discharge planning

15. Take some supervisory responsibility for the work of others in the implementation of routine work within identified and agreed scope of practice.

16. Participate in the management of incidents in line with The Trusts Policy and Procedure.

17. Where appropriate be involved in clinical audit activity.

18. Collate information about resources – both within the service environment and in the community – for Service Users access/utilisation.

19. Receive clinical supervision from a Qualified Occupational Therapist on a regular basis.

20. Maintain a safe working environment with particular regard to the environment and Occupational Therapy resources and equipment.

21. Facilitate/Co-facilitate and support service users to attend service user forums, core integrated therapy groups, care pathway groups and risk related treatment programmes and undertake any training required as part of these integrated groups.

About the role

Mental Health Care

These clinical divisions provide mental health, brain injury, addiction and child and adolescent mental health services in different areas across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Warrington. We are looking for nursing and health care assistants for our inpatient wards. Posts will be based in: complex care, older people’s services, adult acute mental health, specialist and rehabilitation wards.

Secure Care

This clinical division is responsible for providing specialised mental health and learning disability services in low, medium and high secure settings for service users with a primary classification of mental illness, and personality disorders. Our nursing assistants must be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy to our patients, working to improve the quality of care within a secure/forensic environment. In this division you’ll gain experience in forensic environments.

The medium secure unit provides services for people with learning disabilities too. Here we provide services that offer people progress through pathways to more independent community living. Our service users typically have a range of complex needs, require support in medium and low secure services, and may have been in contact with the Ministry of Justice.

Byron ward is an assessment and treatment facility for adults with learning disability and or autism who require specialist support. The aim is to understand functions of behaviours and access mental health which cannot be carried out within the community. The team’s vision is to support service users through assessment, engagement and activity to achieve a timely discharge.

A recruitment and retention premia is offered in this clinical division of up to £600.

Community Care

This clinical division delivers community health services to people in their own homes, health centres and clinics, NHS walk-In centres and our older adults intermediate care ward at Aintree University Hospital site.

As well as the many community nursing services, this division delivers specialist dental health care, therapies, sexual health, medicines management and nutrition and dietetics services. Our teams work closely with GPs and other health and social care services to ensure patients are cared for with the best support, in or closerto their home.

Our services enable people to remain as independent as possible and many are delivered 24 hours, seven days a week.

Our Halton Mental Health Recovery Team are looking to recruit a band 6 Senior Nurse Practitioner full time on a permanent contract. We are a supportive, and dedicated team and there will be opportunities for professional development within the role.

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse, to work alongside our large multidisciplinary team. A special interest in therapeutic interventions would suit the applicant and a full induction and training will be provided to the right candidate.

Roles/Responsibilities:
To provide an efficient and effective cleaning service, working to agreed standards.

• Clean all designated areas, as determined in the cleaning performance indicators and Service Level Agreements effectively and efficiently to maintain a clean environment for customers.
• Use equipment, cleaning machines and techniques as directed by cleaning supervision and management to effectively clean all areas.
• To safely use approved cleaning materials and chemical supplies which are appropriate for the task.
• Work individually or as part of a team to achieve a clean environment at the locations required.
• Attend and complete any necessary training courses to ensure working practices comply with all legislative requirements, Force Policies and Cleaning requirements.
