Primary Teacher
Your Teaching career starts here. We are looking for a Primary Teacher to join a school in Taunton. As a Primary Teacher you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.
As a Primary Teacher your day will be varied and interesting where you will be able to follow a flexible structure whilst supporting children and young people by providing bespoke therapeutic educational frameworks that are tailor-made to each child and young person.
The school provides an alternative education provision, which works with children and young people who struggle in their formal or specialised education settings. They offer education on an outreach basis or within one of their Ofsted registered schools.
As a Primary Teacher you will be working within a Trauma-informed practice model where the school can support and follow a therapeutic practice. The schools have been awarded the ‘Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School Award’.
The leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the Education sector. Not only do they source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities, but they also prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you’re getting the most out of your career. The school knows how important it is that they look after you, so you can look after the children who need you, and that’s one of the key reasons they were named Employer of the Year at the National Children and Young People Awards 2021.
The schools’ young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, they are looking for committed and dedicated people that want to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provision.
About the School
The school offers a range of supportive, safe environments for children and young people with whom mainstream and other school settings have not worked. Their Ofsted registered and rated independent schools around England offer a range of academic, vocational, SEN, and disabilities (SEND) options.
The Team
The school is a small bungalow on the edge of a beautiful park in central Taunton. They are a team of 26 who support children and young people covering Somerset. The children are aged between 8-19 years.
They offer a school without walls for the children & young people. They have their own forest school area and a teaching site at a local equine facility as well as lots of access to other areas and settings.
The school has been awarded the Attachment & Trauma -Sensitive Award (ATSSA)– Gold
They are looking forward to you joining their team!
