The role
As a Motor Transport Training Instructor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing training to the Mechanical Transport department who supply transportation solutions to Royal Air Force (RAF) Northolt on a daily 24/7/365 days a year basis.
Day to day, you'll plan, manage, and execute all elements of driver training, including licence issue and authorisation in accordance with service publications:
- Management and control the correct compilation of defence driving documentation.
- Driver familiarisation training on all vehicle types held
- Delivery of Land Rover training in accordance with GS Module 1 training package - Defence General Service Driver Conversion Instructor (DGSDCI)
- Annual driver capability driver checks on large passenger carrying vehicles and large goods vehicles
- Effective delivery of Airfield Medical Ambulance and Aero Medical Ambulance platforms training
This role is full time 36 hours and will be based at on site at RAF Northolt, Ruislip, Middlesex.
Essential experience of the Motor Transport Training Instructor:
- Must have a proven track record in a transport instructional role within a Defence environment
- Previous driving licence control and issue experience
- You must pass a colour perception test for aerodrome access and should be colour perception (CP) standard of Red Green CP2 (safe) or CP3 (defective/safe)
- Defence General Service Driver Conversion Instructor (DGSDCI) - desirable
Qualifications for the Motor Transport Training Instructor:
- Background qualifications will be time served in the motor licencing industry and or the MoD
- Current and valid driving license Cat C, C+E and D
- Driver CPC
- Full ADR Class 3 in tanks - desirable
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
