Are you passionate about improving care standards and empowering care workers with the skills they need? Are you an experienced social care professional with training qualifications?

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Training Facilitator to join our team and enhance the quality of social care across the county.

In this role, you will work flexibly across various care settings, locations, and providers to develop and deliver training programs that ensure care is provided in accordance with current standards.

​This is a fixed term post for 2 years.

As a Training Facilitator, you will:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to diverse settings and audiences.
• Ensure compliance with current standards by staying updated on changes in regulations and best practices.
• Create bespoke training programs and deliver recognised programs such as Oliver McGowan.
• Provide advice, guidance, and support to care providers to promote and achieve best practices.
• Participate in quality assurance activities including evaluation and self-assessment to drive continuous improvement.

• A proven track record in developing and delivering training programs to adult learners.
• Relevant work experience within a social care provider setting.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex care needs.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize workloads.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with staff at all levels and build effective relationships with stakeholders and other professionals.

• A Level 3 qualification in training and/or assessment.
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
• Proficiency in information and communication technology.
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to travel independently across the county as required.

• Ensuring the efficient delivery of a Schools Advice Service and all that entails.

• People management skills to supervise junior staff within a small diverse team.

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and high performing individual in a permanent role of Education Inclusion Officer.

You'll be required to work in close partnership with education providers to address the complex issues of school Inclusion and Exclusion.

You will:

• provide specialist legislative information and guidance to head teachers, governors, parents, local authority colleagues, and appropriate staff from other agencies, to support the delivery of our statutory functions regarding exclusions and suspensions.
• represent the local authority at schools’ governors’ disciplinary committees and independent review panels, SEND medication meetings and Local Authority SEND tribunals with specific regard to the permanent exclusion process.
• take responsibility for the application and moderation of the Dynamic purchasing system to precure alternative education provision for children and young people. Approval of ongoing invoices and monitoring of the effectiveness of the alternative provision.
• signpost schools and parents to relevant support services as per Staffordshire’s Local Offer and graduated pathway.

You'll have

• a thorough understanding of the complex factors which may influence behaviour in educational settings and have a sound knowledge of strategies to support early intervention and positive change.
• be able to demonstrate an understanding of exclusion procedures, legal framework, Fair access Protocol and have a sound understanding of DfE Guidance on suspensions and exclusions.
• a proven ability to work in partnership with families, professionals and schools to bring about positive change, resolve conflict and be solutions focused.
