The successful candidate will plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under an agreed system of supervision to whole classes as part of the school’s PPA provision as well as supporting in class or leading group interventions. The successful candidate will have the ability to inspire, motivate and encourage children, including those with additional needs. The ability to work efficiently and flexibly is essential.

Saltney Ferry C.P. currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a 1.2 Learning Support, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job overview

You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.

Job requirements


A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths

Teaching Assistant qualification desirable

Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes

Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff

Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join our team, providing key support within the classroom, working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met.

Job overview

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide personalised provision, supporting the pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you’ll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.

Job requirements


NVQ Level 2 or equivalent as a minimum

Experience of supporting pupils with ALN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language

Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
