The Education Branch oversees budget, legislative, policy, and management issues relating to the Department of Education, the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences, the National Council on Disability, and other related small agencies. The Branch covers programs addressing pre-K, K-12 and higher education. PreK-12 programs include assistance to States for high-poverty schools and to meet the special educational needs of students with disabilities; programs that address student mental health; assistance to support teachers and increase the teacher pipeline; and assistance for career and technical education. Higher education programs include Federal Pell Grants and the postsecondary student loan programs. The Branch also oversees the education research agency and national educational statistics.

As a Chief Education Branch, some of your typical work assignments may include:

• Coordinating the formulation and administration of the President's Budget for departments and agencies in the Branch's purview, and leading the review and analysis of appropriations action and execution of enacted appropriations.
• Performing and supervising legislative, economic, management, and organizational analysis for assigned program area.
• Supervising a highly competent staff of program examiners, including by planning, directing, and assigning work; evaluating performance; coaching and advising employees; and leading recruiting and hiring.
• Advising the Deputy Associate Director on issues in the Branch's purview, including by identifying issues and problems that require attention and presenting the need for administrative and legislative changes.
• Reviewing and advising on preparation of formal documents, such as the Budget, State of the Union messages, special messages, veto messages, and executive orders.

• As a Director of Religious Education at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
• Ensure that soldiers, reservists, authorized civilians, and family members are afforded religious education programs, which allow them to exercise their religious beliefs regardless of faith groups.
• Develop specific guidelines and directives for installation-wide implementation of faith groups and religious education programs/services.
• Exercise substantial initiative and judgement in establishing and implementing the religious education goals, objectives, and programs.
• Advise Chaplain on single to large multiple faith group installation matters of religious education and youth ministry.
• Assess resource needs and deficits in order to meet the needs of religious education programming across the installation.
• Develop program marketing and advertising for the installation with emphasis on religious education and youth ministry.
• Evaluate the installation training plan for religious education and youth ministry personnel to develop a training plan for chaplains, chaplain assistant and civilian personnel.

We invite applications for the position of Assistant Director/Senior Assistant Director. Reporting to Associate Chair Research (ACR) in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), the incumbent shall provide leadership and is responsible for the planning, promotion, and strategic development of research collaborations with internal stakeholders and external partners including industry, institutions, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development with industry partners
• Execute EEE’s strategy in industry engagement and development
• Facilitate new initiatives in EEE in entrepreneurship and innovation
• Provide strategic technical support to faculty on research proposals
• Perform industry/technology/IP study
• Prepare research proposals with faculty
• Act as point of contact with government agencies and companies
• Lead in other strategic College and School level proposals and communications

Requirements:

• At least a Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in a senior management position, preferably from the tertiary education industry or relevant research industries. For a PhD degree holder, this working experience requirement can be mitigated.
• Must have a good knowledge of Intellectual Property.
• Have a proven track record of close working experience with multiple government agencies and companies or must be comfortable in approaching government agencies and companies.
• Good knowledge of Intellectual Property and experience on Project Management in a R&D setting.
• Excellent Writing Skills with some research technical experience.
