Are you a curious individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Teacher of SEND to join our team at Laidlaw Schools Trust to support the delivery and development of a comprehensive SEND service across the whole of the Laidlaw Schools Trust (currently 11 Academies).

Reporting to the Trust’s Educational Psychologist there will also be an opportunity to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of psychological principles and techniques to support the educational and developmental needs of children and young people and help promote the use of inclusive, evidence-based practices to help children, young people, parents and education professionals to overcome barriers to educational achievement, social and emotional well-being and mental health.

The successful individual will be a qualified teacher with experience working with students (any age between 4-16) with a wide range of special educational needs. They will have strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices in inclusive education. If this individual has experience and / or a qualification in psychology that would be a bonus but is not essential.

I am currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work at an SEN school for ages 2-19 years. This role is start ASAP and the hours are 33.5 a week, however for the right candidate this can be flexible.

Due to the complex needs of the pupils, the LSA (Learning Support Assistant) role includes supporting pupils who may be displaying challenging behaviour.

The role also involves supporting pupils during physical activities such as swimming, PE and physical outdoor activities such as Forest School, educational, and community visits.

Previous expereinece is not essential but is desireable. The ideal candidate would have worked in a similar role or have a background in care however we are interested in speaking to anyone with the right attitude to work with children and young people who need extra support whilst in the education environment.
