We're currently looking for an additional Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our SEN School near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Our SEN School near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk provides a safe, inclusive learning environment for learners SEMH and Autism. Our partner SEN School has small classes, a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3 staff per class as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you can focus on the needs of each student. There is a full clinical team onsite to support you at all times and you will have the support of an experienced and stable SLT.

Key Duties as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
- To establish a safe, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enable learners to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
- To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
- To contribute to providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
- Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
- To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Skills and Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Ideally have experience or knowledge of SEMH needs
- Commutable to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Learning Support Assistant - Bury - ASAP

We are working exclusively with an educational establishment in Bury, who are looking to secure the services of an outstanding learning support assistant. This particular role is to support the needs of students with SEN, who may display low-level challenging behaviours and can become disengaged from learning quite quickly. You must be comfortable with EBD/SEMH. To be successful in this role, it is essential you are calm, resilient and overall, have a good sense of humour. You are also required to have a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

This post is to start as soon as possible, and will continue until they break for Easter. We do require applicants to be able to commit to the role in its entirety. To ensure continuity and routine for the students you will be working with.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree educated with a good classification
Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided)
Up to date prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
Recent behaviour management training completed (essential, however, training can be provided)

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
