We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Education Engagement Practitioner who has the skills and experience to deliver a high-quality support service using a person-centred approach to support the hardest to reach young offenders in a community and custody setting.

Our Education Engagement mentors support young people who are of school age and are at risk of offending or re-offending to achieve their full potential. They will access the full range of opportunities that are available to them and use effective engagement and participation strategies in the community and within partnership premises.  Applicants will need to demonstrate knowledge of the client group and their specific barriers as well as their ability to deliver successful outcomes for young people and meeting project targets.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £31,529.41 - £ 33,708.58 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata if part time)

About you:

Applicants will have experience of working with vulnerable young people, delivering successful ETE projects, meeting targets and supporting effective participation strategies.
Hold a qualification a relevant qualification in Advice or Guidance, Criminal Justice or a Teaching Certificate.
Knowledge of legislation relating to the criminal justice system
Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
Resolve problems through analytical interpretation of CGL custom and practice.
Experience of team and individual development to enhance performance.
Work as an effective and reflective practitioner.
Possess a strong commitment safeguarding children/young people/vulnerable adults.
Have a full valid UK driving Licence and access to a vehicle is required for this post.

The School of Biosciences is led by an ambitious research and development strategy within the College of Health & Life Sciences. We are now seeking to build upon and develop our established research strengths and wish to appoint a new senior colleague to contribute to the research, impact, teaching profile and leadership within the School of Biosciences at Aston University. We are currently hiring for one position to either fill a Readership position or a Senior Lecturer position. Applicants must be able to evidence an established independent research programme and should include securing significant external research funding coupled with publications in high-ranking, peer-reviewed journals. For a Readership position, applicants must additionally be able to evidence a strong ongoing funding pipeline and a research programme that is internationally excellent. For a Senior Lecturer position, your research profile must be recognised at least at a national level.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who can demonstrate research excellence focused on the molecular and cell biology of health and disease with a view to translating outcomes into novel therapeutic approaches. Applicants with a focus on Immunology, Stem cells and Regenerative medicine are particularly encouraged to apply. An additional focus on the biology of membranes and their components in these settings is highly desirable. All applicants must demonstrate an alignment with our existing research programmes and ideally be able to strengthen our research through their addition to our team.
