The Role

This is a unique post which will provide rich opportunities to develop interests and expertise in medical education whilst broadening your clinical experience specifically in Obs & Gynae. In addition to your clinical role you will work for the Department of Undergraduate Education and help to deliver and develop high quality undergraduate teaching to all medical students and Physician Associate students whilst supporting junior trainees training in the Trust.
• We have a vacancy for two Junior Clinical/Education Fellow to commence August 2024 for 12 months.
• The posts will 50% educational and 50% clinical service provision (clinical attachment in Obs & Gynae) and you will work 2 six month rotations between clinical and education duties.

The role will be focused on delivering high quality education to our learners who rotate through the department and as such you will have protected education time whilst holding some clinical responsibility to deliver clinical care. The clinical responsibilities will be expected to be equivalent to those of a trainee at the same stage of training and based on evidenced-based competencies. Supervision will be the responsibility of the Obs & Gynae Clinical Lead and also guided by an allocated Educational Supervisor and by supervising consultants.

When working educationally, you may be asked to undertake supportive clinical activity to support the team but, in a supernumerary, protected way to enable you to really focus on delivering high quality education

The post holder will be expected to carry out a range of duties encompassing many aspects of Obs & Gynae & Maternity services. These duties may include bedside and ward-based teaching, teaching whilst seeing patients, in outpatient clinics and community settings or helping support student learning in areas such as A+E or on our day case Investigation and Surgery units for example. There is opportunity to help deliver teaching along with clinical tutors in timetabled UCLan Campus Day sessions for years 3 and 4 students.

Your new company
Working exclusively with HAYS Education, your new school is a large over-subscribed secondary school located in central Blackburn. The school is coeducational and caters for pupils aged 11-16. The school has established an excellent reputation in the local community and there is an extremely supportive senior leadership team throughout school with a clear vision towards achieving outstanding. In addition to the above, the school offers state of the art facilities and has excellent transport links.

Your new role
Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching Art to KS4. The role is to commence from September 2024 and will operate, full time, on a temporary basis for a minimum of one term. The role is then to be advertised so there is scope for a permanent position, should that be of interest. As the role is long term, you will be required to plan and prepare all lessons whilst differentiating in pupil ability. You will also be required to mark and assess all work ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this position, it is essential that you hold a teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS or PGCE and have experience of teaching Art to KS4. You must be able to commence the role from September 2024 and be able to commit to the full duration of the assignment.

Your new role
In this role, you will be taking on full responsibilities as class teacher, so this will include planning and delivering lessons as well as marking work. You will also be expected to attend staff meetings and parents' evenings. You should hold good knowledge of KS2 in order to prepare this year 5 for their final year in primary school and SATs. You will need to maintain discipline in this class to ensure pupils remain engaged and willing to learn, pupils should be pushed to achieve their potential. You will be supported by an experienced TA.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children. Subject leadership is desired, but not essential for this role. Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). ECT's and NQT's are also welcome to apply.

Your Role as an Adult Care Trainer:

As an Adult Care Trainer, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home and get to hit the road and visit different sites within your region to meet your learners face-to-face in their care homes.

Working 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, a typical week will involve 2-3 days of travelling to see your apprentices. With the rest working from home; meeting apprentices online and completing administration.

What You'll Do:


Work with adult care apprentices in their care homes and online.
Use your industry knowledge to train the next generation of care.
Meet new apprentices and discuss their learning needs.
Support your apprentices with their functional skills, explaining how English and maths are important in their role.
Visit employers and provide feedback on their apprentices’ skills.
Develop relationships with employers in your area.


About You

We’re looking for passionate care professionals, looking to share their knowledge and make a meaningful impact on the industry. To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:


Demonstrable experience at Care Manager, Registered Manager, Deputy Care Manager level
A Level 5 qualification in Adult Care (or similar)
A good grasp of technology and administrative skills.
Have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths.
A valid Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.
