We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and flexible children’s trained nurse to join the services that support children and young people who have a diagnosis of epilepsy. The successful candidate will be an RSCN or RN Child with substantial knowledge and experience supporting children and young people who have epilepsy. The applicant must be well organised and have excellent communication skills, embracing family partnership care.
Epilepsy is one of the five key clinical priorities within CYP Core20Plus5 framework. Within this, increasing access to Epilepsy Nurse Specialists for children and young people with a learning disability and /or autism is a key improvement priority. Reducing emergency admissions for children and young people with a long-term condition, which includes epilepsy, is included within the NHS Long Term Plan, alongside improving the quality of care and supporting the integration of paediatric skills across services,

The role includes extensive collaborative working with Children’s Community Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultant Paediatricians, GP’s Health Visitors and School Nurses, Schools. Nurseries and Colleges and to ensure support is offered to enable the safe delivery of relevant, co-ordinated and high-quality care for children and families who require epilepsy support within the school and community setting.
