This role presents a unique opportunity to build, from the ground up, a framework for embedding a security culture at the heart of everything we do. Security awareness and education are critical to almost all security standards and regulations that apply to Thames Water, and this role will be a highly visible part of changing and influencing user behaviour when applied to security.
What you’ll be doing as an Environment & Awareness Lead
As the education and awareness officer you will be part of the Information Security team, particularly focussed on setting up and running a program designed to instil a cyber culture within Thames, ensuring that staff behave in a manner aligned with our understanding of cyber hygiene
- To manage the outcomes of the programme and associated Risk Identification and Management for IT and OT environments.
- To design an education and awareness programme.
- Demonstrate how education and awareness contribute towards risk reduction as a key layer of defence.
- Report on surveys and phishing outcomes in a consistent manner.
Base Location – Hybrid – Reading Clear Water Court
Working Pattern – 36 hours

- Extent training and experience in Education and Awareness.
- Proven ability to design and deploy an Education and Awareness Programme from scratch.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen.
Desirable:
- Experience working within Cyber Security
- Any certificate or qualification in Education

- Competitive salary from up to £60,000 per annum depending on experience
