An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward looking, ambitious and happy school as a Learning Support Assistant within our forward looking, ambitious and happy school for a 12 month maternity cover. The successful candidate would ideally have experience as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or be willing to work towards these qualifications during their first year.
Clear communication and commitment to working with staff, students and parents are essential in order to provide the best learning experiences for our students with SEND both inside and outside the classroom. We are looking for a dynamic colleague who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. Our students are enthusiastic, well-behaved and have high aspirations. We are looking for a colleague who can offer additional support for those students who need it.
The role involves working with the school’s SENDCo to offer in-class support, leading 1:1 and small group interventions and supporting teaching and learning for students with additional needs. Being able to establish positive, professional and productive relationships as well as a robust understanding of planning, adapting and leading high quality in-class support for students is key to this post.

The King Edward VI Foundation, Birmingham, is a progressive charitable organisation which has supported excellence in education across the City since 1552. Our Academy Trust currently consists of two independent schools, six selective, and five non selective academies. The King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham (“the Academy Trust”) was established in 2017 and is made up of the academies outlined above.
